I think there's been a glitch (probably with the new packs being installed) - I'd played 20 games and got the message to contact the admin etc, but when I logged in a minute ago, my stats were for 22 games, and included the points. Weird.

Murrin wrote:I completely screwed up on game 16. Wrote in a number that was already there, as well as putting in a couple before I should have and having to go backwards and fix things.
I did that as well. The significant step down in difficulty must have made me over-confident.

Today I found out that if you stop playing a game in the middle, close the browser, and come back a day or two later, the half-played game is saved and you can continue playing from wherever you left off. Praise Jebus for that - my browser's been spontaneously closing of late, and I was going nuts ...

Just about the best comedy since The Office, I adore this show. Mark Heap is the new John Cleese. "I'm thinking about getting an adamantium helmet." "Yeah? That's the stuff that Wolverine's skeleton is made out of, isn't it?" "Yep. Hardest metal in the world." "Ind...

Kari Byron, from Mythbusters:
Image
Not only is she smoking hot (with amazing eyes), she's a geek and an artist, and she wears the greatest outfits. Not far from perfect, really.

The release date of eXistenZ was unfortunate, because it got overshadowed by The Matrix. It's a shame, because it's more of a mind-trip, it's far more adult ( lots of sexual imagery), and it blurs the lines between reality and simulation completely. The only thing that bugs me about it, is why there...

I'm adding two more:

Any Given Sunday - the polar opposite of every formulaic "rag-tag bunch of under-dog misfits" (read: DISNEY) sports film ever made. Oliver Stone's finest work, IMO.

Very Bad Things -
Spoiler
Everybody gets f**ked, but especially Cameron Diaz.

Equinoxe by Jean Michel Jarre, and I'm following it with Les Chants Magnetiques.

I'm convinced that bad stuff only happens on Friday the 13th if you get into a mind-set where you expect it. Treat it like any other day, and that's what it becomes. I used to be really superstitious, but now I throw hats on the bed and walk under ladders with impunity. Also, I have a black cat that...

Whether or not it was because of his mouthing-off during the Haka, (which I suspect the Kiwis were made well aware of, even if they didn't see it, as Brian McClennan said), that hit was supremely sweet. David Kidwell had been talked up as the enforcer from the get-go, and he pulled it off nicely. Al...

Fatal Frame is brilliant - scarier than Silent Hill, IMO.

I'm playing Guilty Gear X2 # Reload, to tide me over 'til I get GG XX Slash.

Talking Heads - (Nothing But) Flowers Here we stand, like an Adam and Eve Waterfalls, the Garden of Eden Two fools in love, so beautiful and strong The birds in the trees, are smiling upon them From the age of the dinosaurs cars have run on gasoline Where, where have they gone? Now, there's nothing...

Meh... I s'pose Fez was funny-ish, but there wasn't a lot of substance. It also made Ashton Kutcher famous, and I'm not happy about that. Topher Grace is alright though.

Actually, the only reason I kept watching was Laura Prepon, but then she dyed her hair and I couldn't be bothered after that.

I'm putting together an 80s compilation (for lack of anything better to do, and because there aren't many decent ones), so I've been listening to that all day. This isn't anywhere close to complete, and I haven't even started on a final track-order yet (mostly it's alphabetical), but it looks alrigh...

Mentally: Well, a complete overhaul wouldn't go amiss - there are a lot of cobwebs and loose wires floating around - but mostly I'd want will-power and decisiveness. Those would both solve a lot of my problems. A good deal more self-confidence and a better memory would also be nice. Physically: I ha...

I really wish that I could care. I love the Red Wings, but yet again, I won't be able to see more than a highlights package on ESPN. My favourite player of all time (Brendan Shanahan) was traded to the Rangers in the off-season, and I should be heart-broken, but it's just another straw on a camel's ...

Presumably, everybody's thought of recipes for aliantha, but I came up with this: Freeze fresh lime juice and then crush with a little salt until it's a slushy consistency - you want to be able to just taste the salt in the finished product. 2 parts Archer's Peach schnapps 1 part Bacardi Try to resi...

Jeff Buckley - Lover, You Should've Come Over Looking out the door I see the rain fall upon the funeral mourners Parading in a wake of sad relations As their shoes fill up with water Maybe I'm too young To keep good love from going wrong But tonight you're on my mind, so You never know Broken down ...
