I started a new job today cooking in a corporate kitchen at one of Gap's headquarter buildings. It's my first day of work in eight months. I get up at 4:30 to get there and meet everybody, start prepping a few things, chopped some fruit. I'm not even working two hours yet and plunk , my cleaver taps...

I believe that over the ages prayer has evolved from being a way to worship one's higher power to more or less a way of channeling that power. Where does it say in any book that man can wield divine power? We as humans practice what we we're taught, modify those teachings to our times and pass it on...

Thanks Menolly. It's not as cool as working in a Southern-Italian Style restaurant but by the looks of it it's a higher end corporate kitchen if there is such a thing. Being there, though, it sure was nice to be in the hustle and bustle again, hearing the convection ovens and chopping and "...O...

Prayer is not about science, Faith is believing there is something other than our tangible world. And there is no "proving" it. I wouldn't even know how to try too. All I know is the peace and hope I feel whenever I talk to God. That is all I need and it has made my life wonderful. My lif...

Just an experience, not a rebuttal. I used to cook at this big castle called Ardenwood. It is a sort of hospital/retirement community for Christian Scientists who used to own all the land out that way and who do not believe in medical intervention but the power of prayer. They have doctors and nurse...

Well, I got a job yesterday and I don't really know how I feel about it. Lessee, benefits...benefits....Well, money's kinda cool but it's considerably less than what I was earning at my last job. It is what I love to do, that's good. It's also literally a stones throw from one of my fishin spots so ...

One would assume that the ability of prayer would be an instinctual device built into our hardware by the one who created us in order to communicate with them instead of something that we had to learn how to do that could be manipulated or one person was better at than others. In the Bible days, for...

Here's the key to my past smoke free year. The body tries to trick us into smoking. It asks for one smoke and says it won't bother us later but it lies, my precious, it lies, dirty rotten tricksie it is. So I'd get a craving, and thoughts start creeping into my head like walking to the store and buy...
