I prefer the UK version, because it is sort of subtle with whatever it is trying to get across (i have no idea). Donaldson's writing is subtle so it fits, and it is something different. I myself am getting tired of most fantasy book covers, they are becoming repetitive and to over the top.

Salvatore's writing may be a bit more juvenile than SRD's, but that is the main difference. SRD, in my opinion works to create art and pseudo-literature. What do you think would be the best way for a screen adaptation of the chronicles? I think movies wouldn't work well, because there is just so much information in each novel.
