"The Killing God" news
I just visited SRD's page and was surprised to read about the editorial trouble he is having. My question is how do Brandon Sanderson and Terry Brooks keep getting published and SRD's book sales are dropping? I don't get it. Terry Brooks can retread an Elfstone or Ellcrys storyline and it gets publi...

Quantum Computers
What about the consideration that we are swiftly approaching the limit of silicon fabrication technologies and, thus, there's only so much improvement that can be made?

Quantum Computers
Almost everyone assumes that a fully functioning ideal quantum computer will eventually be produced. Not everyone is agreeing with that. Let's supposed for a minute that the naysayers are correct and that a practicable quantum computer is not possible. What then? What is that the signal of?

First Chapter
Read it!
Pretty good. Begins some nice story framework. The ending was the best part since it seems to reveal that there is something or someone above the guns and sorcery.
Looking forward to the rest of it.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?
I had this sinking feeling that I have read this plot suggestion on the back of some prevailing so-called fantasy books in recent months and years. Do you think that they went out of their way to make this book sound like everything else that is out there? Then I got this thought: Can you imagine wh...

Reave
I hope that SRD will revisit Reave in further stories. With some backstory as well. He is very much an avenging angel, but there is no clue as to how he is called or who send him. Does he have his own private absolute moral code?

new work
Wayfriend, Thanks for the info, although it increases the pain of not having any new SRD to read. :-x Meltman??? Strange. THE SEVENTH DECIMATE seems too big and ominous next to the name Meltman. Doesn't fit. On purpose? Also, does this represent a trend for SRD? I.e., emphasis on shorter works? Is S...

What now from SRD????
I have finished the new novellas and really enjoyed them both. The Augur's Gambit was the better of the two, I think. Now my SRD hunger has kicked in again.
Anyone have any hint of what the Master Wordsmith may be working on now?
Hungry... so very hungry.

Similarity
I can barely put this thing down! Yes, lighter writing, but very effective. I think that this could have been developed into a larger story. Maybe Donaldson will expand this world and this character. Reminds me of the other short stories with Reave the Just. Is that accurate, or just my poor memory?...

I believe that was a very apt comparison. Good one.

SRD vs. Robert Jordan
I am sure that this kind of discussion belongs in another forum, but since there was a reply to my somewhat off the cuff comparison, I thought that I would reply as well. How are they different precisely? World-building? Characters? I bet, though, that Staveley will prove to be more like Jordan (or ...

Another one
I've got one that I have been looking for. Read it when I was a kid. Late 70s early 80s. It concerns a guy who is 'waking' up in different realities or lives, but later comes to to find out that copies of him are being made by some entity or machine.
Anyone have a clue on this one?

New book awareness
That's okay, Watchers. My exuberance got the better of me!!!! I was just excited to see something else coming from the man. As I have stated before, he has ruined me for other authors. NOBODY writes like SRD. Although, I recently discovered Brian Stavely, but I am not sure if he is more like SRD or ...

New book awareness
So Smartypantsers, if I was not already familiar with the new titles and had not combed through the relevant prior posts, which clever search term would have led me to the extant post?

Ranking
Mr. Land, I hear you! TPTP was my first as well, then I got the remaining books. It is hard for me to include the last series in the ranking at all since I was sorely disappointed in the last two books (especially that last one). But my ranking would likely go like this: TIIW TPTP LFB TOT TWL WGW As...
