What did you think of the Soldier Son trilogy? I read the Farseer, Liveships and Tawny Man trilogies and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. But I just could not get on with Soldier Son at all. I think I forced my way through all of the first book but it's clearly left no impression on me apart from a v...

Somehow I always forget about FK; it doesn't suck enough or shine enough to warrant much comment, compared to the others. :) It sucked enough for me to stop reading the series there at least twice. I really don't know what is it I dislike about it so much though. I do have an abiding soft spo...

Well, I cross stitch but I'm afraid my sewing is absolutely woeful. It's a lovely idea though, for those that can!

Covenant was caught between both worlds, as Horizonscan says, because he was able to resist being summoned. Mhoram saw this. So of course he could surmise that, if the Lords stopped their summoning efforts, Covenant's resistance would be enough to cause the whole process to fail. Having failed, Cov...

Memories of Ice . There goes my TC re-read for the moment. :) Oh! Oh! Oh!!!!!! My favorite of all!!!! Even above Deadhouse Gates , imho. Hey, wait. I don't see that you read DG?? Did your library get it? Mind you, you could just as easily read MoI first. I won't mess continuity at all. I'm just cur...

It's been a while since I read it but, as far as I recall, TC wasn't actually properly summoned by Mhoram in TPTP. Wasn't he sort of caught between both worlds? So, you could argue that Mhoram just chose not to complete the summoning rather than really sending him back. Which isn't quite the same th...

I thought that too. Liked the twist though; I didn't see it coming. Loved all of the new series so far. Hope they have a fitting series ending. :D

Argh, darn county library has managed to lose one of its two copies of Deadhouse Gates ! Meaning I have to wait for the one that's currently on loan to be returned rather than the one they told me was just sitting on a shelf somewhere! :( Yeah, I'm impatient. Maybe I'll add another reservation while...

Thanks. I'd noticed the forum but don't want spoilers so will probably avoid it for a while. I did enjoy Gardens of the Moon despite the massive confusion, so I'm looking forward to the rest as everyone seems to agree they get better.

Gardens of the Moon , by Erikson. Picked it up from the library today because I couldn't fail to notice that the series is generally highly regarded on here and my local library actually had the first book! Not to mention SRD's endorsement. :) Almost 200 pages in and I'm very confused. Welcom...

Oh that is bad news! :( I was rather excited about having GDT doing it. I liked PJ's LotR films plenty (despite finding plenty to moan about!) but thought GDT might bring something interesting to the Hobbit. Yeah, I can see this getting cancelled altogether. :(

How is it that the same bits do it for all of us; Barnetto's and Blackhawk's and DrPaul's - they're all there for me. How does this kind of magic happen? (I guess Foamfollower would have haqd the right response -"Joy is in the ears that hear".)  :D I don't know but they're all ...
