Bigger Tragedy: Snape or Darth Vader

I was sitting around the other day listening to the audiobook and it hit me to ask.... Star Wars in essence is nothing more than a tragedy. The same could be said for Harry Potter. Some could say the second biggest character behind Harry is Snape. In both stories it is the tragic hero's msitakes tha...

Sorry for bumping this old thread but amazing how things turn out over the years. I have to agree with Zahir, he makes some very great points. I think despite the way be betrays James, Lilly, etc Peter is a very brave person. Just think out of all the death eaters that are free it is only Peter that...

Hey great dissection! One would have thought after the whole thing with the Chamber of Secrets, Hagrid would have stopped messing with such creatures. Even if he didn't stop you would think he wouldn't try to raise a dragon on school grounds. As much as I like Hagrid I can only agree with Harry, Her...

You know I am listening to all of the books again on my ipod since I have the audiobooka nd I sit here and try to give Snape the benefit of the doubt but I can't. I can see no way for people to really like or love Snape, Im sorry. His treatment of Harry was downright awful but people will say it is ...

Great write up Seafoam.

I agree Menolly....she includes so much in the Harry Potter story that you spend hours just looking up different things that are mentioned in it. I am really realizing how far the rabbit hole goes when it comes to the whole HP world.

Well, let me say my piece on Snape. Snape is a mean, petty and selfish asshole. He is NOT a nice guy. He went out of his way to make Harry's life more difficult than it had to be. He purposefully made Harry miserable EVERY chance he could get. He helps Harry at the VERY END. ONLY WHEN HE KNOWS that...

I wondered the samething about Pettigrew but then I remember Dumbledore saying to Harry in one of the books (sorry I can't remember which one)...that he felt like they sort too early at Hogwarts. How someone is at 11 doesn't mean they will be the same way at 17, 12,etc. Ok now I remember he said it ...
