Thanks for the re-direct, Danlo! I really wish I could make it to the autograph session (I'd love to have my RotE autographed), but I can only squeeze in one day at Bubonicon, so I decided on the guest of honor day. btw danlo, what was the situation with GRRM and the rude fans? I didn't hear about t...

I always thought that Haven Farm was in Maine. I dont remember exactly why but I had this strong feeling that it was. Infact I hadn't even thought otherwise until I read this thread. Same here. I didn't necessarily envision Maine, but I pictured a rural town in the North East of the US (can't recal...

You won't have to wait nearly a decade for the next book like I did. :x. That's the benefit of coming to a series late. ;) I really, really envy people who come to the chronicles for the very first time. That magic of seeing Andelain and the Giants and the Haruchai and everything is just... stunning.

House of Chains should be soon out in paperback and I'm anxious to get to read it once it arrives to this piece of distant taiga. (Yes, I buy everything, even literary masterpieces, in paperback. I may have to avoid this forum once The Last Chronicles start to come out.) I'm looking forward to Tor ...

OT: request for beta readers

Hi all, I'm sorry if this is egregiously off topic... I'm not familiar with the other areas of the forum and none of the other boards seemed appropriate either. I apologize to the moderators in advance. :) I'm ready to send out another batch of short stories to the pro markets, one of them going to ...

Strange Dreams was the collection that got me turned on to Ellison. When he's on, there's no one better. When he's off, bleh (like another of my favorite writers, Jonathan Carroll).

Ellison is now a cranky old nutsack with his internet piracy crusade and his other rants. Oh, but what beautiful rants.

New SRD photos from Bubonicon

Hi all, Sorry it took so long to get these posted. Not sure if Danlo will post his here too or in another thread. Only two pictures turned out.The three I took from the writers panel were either dark or blurry. The two pics I'm posting are from the autograph session when I walked up to the table. Th...

LOL Danlo! I can imagine... People like that really irk me. What did SRD do?? Did he say anything or just look at the loon?? I could tell that SRD was trying to make a quick exit and this guy is babbling about how his ex-girlfriend got him hooked on the series and how he thought the books were broo...

Oh, a few more tidbits that came to me: SRD/GRRM conversation: George said to Steve (all the other writers called him Steve, very cool) "so is it true you're doing a new Covenant book?" And SRD answers "it is, it is." Steve (ha ha, I can call him that now!) then explained that he...

Thats awesome Ringthane and thanks.....But did you get any pics?? :) Yep, but not nearly as many as I would've liked. I wanted to snap like a madman, actually, but I only got 3 or 4 pics, most from when he autographed my stuff. He's a very reserved guy, so I didn't want to go over the top with the ...

Re: Does SRD still love the Land? A new paradox of white gol

Is it necessary that SRD still loves his creation in order to write the 3rd Chronicles? I don't think it's necessary for a writer to love his work to write, but I think that love and passion are virtually necessary if that writing is to be good. otherwise, the writer is just going through the motio...

SRD quotes from today's reading (more explosive news!)

Hi all, I was at the reading today with Danlo and also had the privelege to hear from Chapter 5 of Runes of the Earth. I probably should post this in Danlo's thread, but I didnt' want to bury juicy news deeper in the thread. :) Any specific quotes from SRD will be in quotation marks, otherwise I'm j...
