On page 118/119 of The Atlas of the Land, the author calls Soulbiter a 'frozen plain'. On the return from the the Isle of the One Tree, the Starfare's Gem gets stuck in Sea of Ice, and company has to cross over Soulbiter until they reach free flowing water. This is why I am confused on what Soulbite...

Soulbiter - Ocean, Frozen Ocean or Frozen Land?

I am a bit confused about Soulbiter. Is it just a part frozen Ocean north of the Sunbirth Sea, rather like our Arctic Ocean? I think it is this rather than frozen Land.

Sweet's cover for Power that Preserves

What scene is it supposed to represent and who are the characters depicted? Thanks.

Can this explain a 160 page difference? If the authors 1000 page plus manuscript is edited independently by both publishers, it could be the Gollancz editor cut less!

When you go to the publishers sites, Gollancz/Orion the UK publisher says 800 pages - Putnam/Penguin the US publisher says 640 pages.

Differences between US and UK editions

According to Amazon, in the US and UK, the American edition has 640 pages and the British edition has 896 pages. This suggest if you want a more complete text (or an extended version) you should buy the British version. Am I correct in this assumption?

Thanks for the article, good sir. Let me quote this bit: Donaldson is credited with inventing the modern fantasy genre, paving the way for giants such as Eddings, Feist and Goodkind. "Giants" such as David "Del-Rey-formula-boy" Eddings? Please, someone get the barf bags out. Rem...

This is for anyone who has a copy of Runes of the Earth. Is there a new map of the land in it, or is the previous one used again?

If the Amazon sites in the US and UK are to be believed. The US edition of Runes of the Earth will be published on October 14 and the British edition on October 21. Why? Happens all the time. The British editions of George R. R. Martin's books and Robin Hobb's books usually come out long before the American versions, and they are both American writers... The British cover for 'Runes of the Earth' is very disappointing. Not a patch on the American one.
I found the Del Rey covers for the earlier Covenant books far better than the British ones.
