Loremaster PhD
Hi all!!!
Just thought I'd announce that I am now a doctor. My PhD was conferred on the 5th of March, and I received official notice on the 7th. Three and a half-years of hard work (but joyous) have finally 'payed' off. Suffice to say, I am very pleased!
The other great news is that I am a near-full time teacher/researcher at Monash University and have 16(!) honours students, as well as lecturing in psychology. So living the life I have always wanted.

Thanks Waddley!!Waddley wrote:Looks like I came back at just the right time. Congratulations, Dr. Loremaster.
It's an amazing feeling to realize your dreams, and I'm so happy that you've done it.
So... What's the next adventure?
Getting work overseas - teaching/researching - either Canada, NY, Boston, Germany or UK. So many postdoctoral choices!

Awesome! Congratulations! Getting a PhD in any field is probably a good deal of work. I imagine psychology is more than most.
Now you need to change your name here to Loredoctor. Doctorate comes after Masters Degree, after all.

Glad that there was even joy in the journey.
16 honors students (I don't know what that's actually the equivalent of; honors classes means something different, but is advanced; this sounds more one-on-one) and lecturing - sounds exciting!
I looooove having capable students.
And Waddley, a legend from the past!

Thank you, Linna! I feel as though I upgraded!
Honours is rarely used these days; it's really only found in the arts/humanities and psychology. Think of it as a bridging year between undergraduate and postgraduate. So a 4th year subject, where the students work on a 10,000 word thesis.
