Me: Same shit different day.

I love days like this when they happen in Tucson, usually. We get way too many of those darned sunny days.
Yeah...we average about 1,000 hours of sunshine a year in JHB. I love me some cloudy, rainy weather.

Which we've been getting in spades...been raining for about 36 hours non-stop.

The cats are not happy. They hate being confined, but they hate going out in the rain. They sit at the door and glare at us. Or they'll keep going back to it every 10 minutes to check if it's still raining. And then glare at us.

Hahaha .. so thats pretty conclusive Revan .. there can be too much sun ☀️

I love these cooler days too Kizza. I lived in Adelaide from 10yoa .. and I remember one hot sunny day coming in from the beach .. which was literally across the road .. and went to the bathroom. I caught sight of my face in the mirror and there were these water bubbles all over my face .. I was so scared 😂 I thought omg Im dying .. well yeah not blood, so not bleeding out .. but fuck Im watering out 😂

Yeah nah .. Id never perspired before .. never seen sweat on my FACE 😂

But I grew to hate SA summers .. not only. cos we regularly got heatwaves over 40C that regularly lasted. two weeks .. and it does seem cooler but summers could be soo long .. est 5 months not unusual. But I could be biased .. but I recall being very pregnant lying spread eagle on out polished wood floors, no air con .. making my kids squirt me with their water guns and bottles 😂😂😂😂

Was that the biography of GM Av? I believe I read that one - it rings a bell.

Supposed to be a big storm tomorrow. We'll see. Most of the 'big storms' thus far have not been as advertised.

We've been having some Actual Rain (tm). I suppose they were bound to get it right eventually if they kept guessing.

That's the one. Also have his collected letters, IIRC, and of course Harpo Speaks, his brother's autobiography.

They told us there would be thunderstorms. False advertising so far.

You got Actual Rain (tm) a bit back I see. Yay!

We got snow here like yesterday or the day before. In April. it was weird.
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor

"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."
