So I've just had an issue with "not acceptable" errors using the Quick Reply box in Gen Literature, which said there was no posting.php, but I had no such problem using the default reply page. And this reply here worked in the Quick Reply too.

Yeah, it's happened a couple of times to me, randomly, but rarely.
