RIP Anthony Bourdain

Post by Avatar »

The original bad boy chef, Anthony Bourdain, dead from suicide at 61.

He was in the middle of filming a new series of Parts Unknown, and having watched the extant episodes, (especially the first one which has an interview with him looking back at the previous season), it seems pretty obvious in retrospect that all was not well with the man.

Probably my favourite "celebrity chef," the world is a poorer place for his absence.

I hadn't followed his show much since I gave up cable way back when. He always seemed so passionate about everything. Just goes to show you never know what demons someone might be facing. :(

Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing

Addiction and depression are both a sickness which need maintenance and more of.... I don't know what tbh. He was a great storyteller.
The one about the terrible burger he bought at an airport... There were 5 people behind the counter and no other customers, and they all watched the construction of this terrible burger....

Oftentimes, the more passionate, the more demons.

Yeah, sucks about his kid, although at least she wasn't living with him or a sole dependant.
