The Basics
Heart of God: The Outsiders is a roleplaying game based loosely on the Simple World variant of the Powered by the Apocalypse game system. The full details of how the game works can be found here:
Game Guide
The important thing is that the game is driven by the players - your choices, your actions. I will be presenting the world and certain situations to you, and it's up to you to decide what you do. This could go (almost) anywhere.
The Scenario
Here's the scenario we're using to kick off the game. Who knows where it will go from here.
The growing prosperity of the Heartland region has drawn many seeking wealth, particularly in the northern foothills, where the new city of Jovian stands. Home to the Jovian Guild of Merchants, many trade caravans, large and small, arrive at the city seeking lucrative contracts from the Guildsmen, who control the city's wealth.
One such caravan is that of Hestor Rum, a minor noble from somewhere in the far north, who is looking to make a deal for a shipment of textiles of the highest quality that he acquired at his previous stop in Akilas, a port city a few weeks' journey from the Heartland.
Or at least that's what he claims. In reality, Hestor Rum is a con man and a thief, and he has brought a small crew to help him pull off his most ambitious job yet: robbing the Great Bank of Jove.
You, the player, are a member of Hestor's crew. You may have been with him on jobs before, or perhaps you were recently hired just for this one heist. You don't really know much about Rum. You're not sure that's his real name. Perhaps you're not even sure why he hired you. But if you pull this off, he's offering one hell of a reward.

You're both welcome to join. That'd bring us to 5, which I think is the maximum I'd take for this.
Hope you don't mind me reusing your old characters in this sort-of-sequel. I probably should have asked how you felt about it! Sorry for not saying anything. Plan is that this isn't exactly the same as Heart of God, and the gods in the setting are those ones but would have to shift a little to serve the purposes of this new campaign. I don't know your creations as well as you do so wouldn't expect to recreate them exactly.

Now I just need to understand how this works. I saw a spreadsheet. It promoted me to get imagur. Which did, indeed, open it. But then I got notifications of stupid things I didn't want, so I uninstalled it. Other suggestions?

Yes. I saw that before the download. But I thought it was going to give me a usable character sheet. I know nothing about imagur. Sounds like images, but I thought maybe it had other capabilities. Like Battlescribe or something.
So do we have a certain number of points that we distribute among the characteristics?

Yeah, like I said that image was out of date. It's been updated now. The attributes are Power, Finesse, Wit, Charm, and Faith.Fist and Faith wrote:The sheet lists only four attributes, but we have five values to distribute among.
Where is the list of traits?
If there's anything that's unclear in the guide please do let me know.
We'll get into stats and traits and stuff once everyone has introduced themselves.

This is the list I currently have as examples. Players are free to come up with their own ideas though.
