On social media liberals are threatening to take to the streets and start burning more stuff down if Republicans replace RBG. I've read for some calling for people to go farther and target Republicans for violence. So we get their message. I've seen for outright calls to assassinate McConnell. Oddly enough Twitter allowed those to stay up.Skyweir wrote:“A cry to arms” what is that?

While looking for the Puerto Rico thread, I found one about which I had forgotten. Oh, what a difference 9 months make--back then I was saying "no one is going to be burning cities should Trump win reelection" but I was partially wrong. The Left did start burning cities a few months later, but not because of Trump being reelected.
As far as the OP in that thread trash-talking Democrats....well, I leave it up to the individual reader to arrive at their own conclusions.

The blm is threatening to protest--most likely violently--if Trump "steals" the election or "fails to concede". erm....Trump does not have to concede if Biden hits 270 because he wins whether Trump concedes or not. A concession is merely a formality, a friendly admission that one's opponent has attained victory.

There are indeed.ur-Nanothnir wrote:There's a lot of conspiracies floating around about the Dems "cheating."
Mainly now being propagated by the Trump campaign (of course) - but as I've said continually, whichever side lost this election was bound to cry foul, blame subversion and corruption, demand recounts and attempt to mount legal challenges of varying kinds. It'd be the height of dishonesty to pretend that the Dems wouldn't have done the exact same, if the positions had been reversed.
However, what really hasn't helped is that moronic Dem Attorney General in Pennsylvania (Shapiro?), who tweeted that Trump was guaranteed to lose PA before even a single vote had been counted there....
I mean, seriously? What the fuck was he thinking? As a very senior officer of the law within the state AND the man in charge of PA's election process, the optics this cretin caused with that crashingly dumbass comment hardly look great, eh?

Count everything. I believe thst Trump loses in the end. But Republicans retain the Senate. They gain some House seats and there is no Blue wave. Republicans can prevent the most radical, socialist planks of the Democrats platform. With Scotus there to stop the erosion of our Constitutional rights.
With the inroads Republicans made with Hispanics and blacks the Republicans need to actually work. Get Scott to keep working on police reform. Make prison reform a Republican issue. Get infrastructure done. Oppose war. Continue to push for normalizing peace treaties with Muslim states. Fight against a new Iran deal. Fight against re-entering the Paris treaty. Continue to insist Nato countries pay their fair share.
Legalize weed to end the war on drugs fiasco. We've got to fight against open borders. Fight for election reform. Push for a war on plastics pollution in the oceans. Fight for staying free of overseas fossil fuels.
Trump could have done more than he did. And what good he did needs to be continued. He just would not listen.
The Republican party can continue to work for taking unions from Democrats and keeping jobs in America.

As noted in the "social media" thread, this is why social media platforms need to start being held accountable for posts which get posted; they, in turn, will hold users accountable--if people would stop saying stupid shit online then a lot of stupid shit would not be happening.ur-Nanothnir wrote:after baseless claims were made on social media
Joy Reid over at MSNBC thinks that all the votes Trump received indicate how much racism and "anti-wokeness" still exists. *sigh* Racism will exist as long as human beings exist, Ms. Reid, and it is not limited to any skin color whatsoever. "Anti-wokeness" deserves to exist because "wokeness" is an illogical and irrational mindset.
AOC took shots at MSNBC commentator Claire McCaskill, asking "Why do we listen to people who lost elections as if they are experts in winning elections?". This means that, according to AOC, every person who has ever lost an election should sit down and shut up about elections; this list would include Bernie Sanders (who couldn't even win a Democrat nomination), Hillary Clinton (obviously), Robert Francis, etc. Eventually, when AOC herself loses an election at some point, we can then remind her of her own comment.

The phrase "truth and reconciliation commission" actually means "let's put our political opponents in prison" and sounds like the French Revolution. You didn't win that much, Democrats--the Oval Office, yes, but you did not take the Senate, you don't have 51% in the House, you don't have the Court, and you lost 2 State legislatures. Your victory was pretty thin, so don't over-celebrate it.

You would think Biden might want to tell his own side he wants to be president for everyone?

I told you there was not going to be any reconciliation.
As I said, those people are over-celebrating their victory--Democrats really did not win that much, mostly just the White House. Big fucking deal--we have the Court, so good luck getting anything you want passed.
A group already exists calling itself the Truth Accountability Project. Its goal is to "make a record of every staffer, appointee, donor, endorsee, and enabler of Trump". That's right--they are making an "enemies list" and they want to purge the sinners.Wajahat Ali, contributing writer for the New York Times wrote: You can't heal or reform the GOP who are now an extremist party. They have to be broken, burned down and rebuilt. When Biden is in power treat them like the active threats to democracy they are. If those who committed crimes aren't punished then they will be more emboldened.
I have already been there, Mr. Mitchum--I see no reason to forgive, understand, or reconcile wtih un-American and unconstitutional Democrats who tried to undermine a legitimate administration for four years, including weaponizing the FBI and using foreign agents to listen to Russian pub-talk and turn that into an impeachment. Beesides, how are they going to enforce "truth and accountability" laws or dictates when they cannot rely on the police? You cannot support "defund the police" and then expect them to go around bringing people before your unlawful commission/tribunal/kangaroo court. You won't be able to rely on the military, either--they will disobey illegal orders.Preston Mitchum, a liberal community organizer in Washington, D.C. wrote:I won't empathize with, support, forgive, understand, make amends for, or reconcile with Trump supporters. Not a single one. He was a proud white nationalist who proudly raised up many white supremacists. That's who supported him. And I make no apologies for saying this.

The Court has no role in passing legislation. So long as any bills hew within Constitutional and legal guardrails, the Court will have no voice on legislation passed (or not) by the Congress.Hashi Lebwohl wrote:Big fucking deal--we have the Court, so good luck getting anything you want passed.
Also, did you just say the quiet part out loud? Normally, the polite fiction that the Court is nonpartisan is not explicitly contradicted. You admit that what has been done to SCOTUS since February 2016 is nakedly political? Truth, but I hardly expected an outright admission.
Perhaps you meant to say:
Yep, yep, yep. Hundreds of House-passed bills have died, are dying, and likely will die on the Majority Leader's desk, having never been taken up by the Senate.Hashi Lebwohl wrote:Big fucking deal--we probably have the Senate, so good luck getting anything you want passed.

You might want to edit that, SD. Hashi hypothetically said.
Anyway, it would seem Trump and every Republican in the country other than you, Hashi, thinks having the presidency is a big fucking deal, indeed.
