I have not seen the new show yet. I hear it's not a reboot?

IMDB days it's a sequel, 30 years later.

Hopefully, they'll try to resolve the finale of the original which was hated by a significant percentage of the fan base. The new hologram is a woman. If it were me, I'd make her Sam Beckett's daughter. Or maybe granddaughter. It's tough to say. That was a convoluted story.

Given that the current series is set thirty years later than the original, daughter is possible (granddaughter not so much, even with extremely precocious assumptions)...but there is nothing in the original or current series backstory to support that.
There are plenty of plot possibilities inherent in the new hologram character and how she interacts with the new Leaper. This is not Dr. Beckett and Al.
Sam's daughter, Samantha Fuller, was conceived during a leap in 1966. She'd be 55 now.

Watched the first episode, I mean, it was fine. Rather a sequel than a reboot. (I used to love the original as a kid, no idea how well it's aged.)
