I’m sure some of you know this guy. I never heard of him until about a month ago, as I was trying to learn about semiotics. This is an hour+ interview of him that, while not getting technical in any way, tells what he did and the impact he had. Which is, to drastically understate it, considerable. It seems he coined the term Information Theory, as he was inventing it. One of the greatest minds of the 20th century. I don’t know enough about any of the topics involved to estimate how important he is, but it sounds like everything his ideas have lead to is literally on par with Einstein.
