Age Group Poll, as 2023 ends…
I turned 60 yesterday. (Oh. That means my Watcherversary just passed. 21 years.). I think at least a couple others turned 60 this year. So some changes to the groups.

Happy Birthday Fist.
I still have 3 years (and 3 months) to go before I hit the next milestone, so that's probably when we will get a new one of these.
For now, at (very nearly) 47 I'm still in the same bracket. You old fogies.

I will be 61 this year in June. So although its only a month before turning 61, I am retiring in May and I can say I retired at 60.

Thanks StevieG! Just make sure you do all the math prior to hitting that switch. How much will you get from retirement accounts/investments, when to take SS (62,65,67, or 70), ACA (and the cliff) and healthcare, taxes, and RMDs, and Sequence of returns risk. I have it all in spreadsheets so I can see what it looks like. Oh and make sure to pull your transactions from the bank to see what your true spend is (catagorized by tupe like Groceries, gas, utilities, etc etc). I pulled that at the start of 2023 and again at the start of 2024. It is always a bit eye-opening. Plus make a retirement budget and live off that budget for 6 months to stress test your budget. Just to make sure you aren't overlooking or under-thinking how much your will spend.

Well, certainly a different category than I would have selected when I joined this forum.

I do like the 50 - 50 typo in the poll. Makes me feel like i'm frozen in time for a few more years. lol
