Zarathustra wrote:Isn't DT6 where they meet King? I thought that was a pivotal moment in the series, lots of fun to read. I also liked the faster pace and shorter length. It really felt like we were finally rushing toward the end.
If it was, then it was the only high point for me. (However, interestingly, meeting him killed the whole series for the GF.) All I think of is Susannah's pregnancy and madness which really annoyed me.

The Shining was great, (and Dead Zone), but I hated Pet Semetary...Kings "foreshadowing" disease at its worst.

I liked the Talisman, but Black House was bad.

So many things wrong with that book. Where does one begin to explain them?!

The Talisman is one of my fave King books, I read it right after reading Eyes of the Dragon, those were my first 2 King books.

So when I bought the hardcover of Black House, I was very excited.

Then...boom. The disappointment hit hard.

At least when I bought DT7 hardcover I knew what I was going to read - a poor conclusion to a series that was already in a nosediving free-fall.

As I've said before, I didn't hate the end of the DT. Ok, the first time I read it, I was a bit non-plussed, but on subsequent re-reads, I came to believe it was the only way he could realistically have ended it.

the Mist is my favorite short story. I took Julie to the movie version and she got angry at me for the ending. Explained it was not the ending from the story. But it was a better ending. King agrees.

Love the expanded Stand.

Love everything about It. Minus the ending with the kid orgy.
Love Salem's Lot. Love the Long Walk, want a movie.
Langoliers is great. I seem to be in a minority for my love of Buick 8.

I've never finished Black House.
