Hi.
Another newbie finds himself perched on Kevin's Watch...
My first experience reading SRD was (I think) Mordant's Need and/or The Real Story in the early nineties. It was the Gap series that made him my favourite author - I just love the intensity of it, the characters, the plot, the action, the imagery. I think Donaldson has improved continually as a writer - therefore, I have to say, The First Chronicles are his weakest books (I'm currently halfway through a reread of the 2nd Chrons, and enjoying them much more).
About me, if you're interested (and if you're not, then tough

): I'm just about to start the third year of a creative writing degree and would like to make a living as a fantasy writer. Haven't had anything published yet, but I'm working on it. I'm also a member of the British Fantasy Society, which, hopefully, will be hosting an evening with our favourite writer in November.
