Duchess, I saw that's available in ebook. Would you recommend I get it that way? It would mean carrying around a ream of paper, since I don't have an ebook reader, but I do that often enough anyway.

I have never tried an e-book, Joy, so I honestly couldn't say. However, since both Fevre Dream and Dying of the Light have just both been recently reissued into print, you might be able to find them at a local bookstore? I'm not sure about Dying of the Light yet, its sort of gloomy thus far, but I would definately very highly recommend Fevre Dream to just about anyone. :)

It's against my family's rules to book shop for ourselves this time of year. ;) So I'll put FEVRE DREAM on the Amazon wish list.

Rereading C.S. Lewis's THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW, before going back to a work book tomorrow.

(and watching HP and the Sorcerer's Stone)

Aargh, I haven't even read DT5 yet! (Am waiting for them to all come out in paperback, to match the rest of my set. Painful waiting, but at least I'll have some serious reading to look forward to!)

As you can probably guess, am on Mission Earth 4: An Alien Affair

I'm reading Jasper Fforde's The Well of Lost Plots. His latest is just out, too....I'm going to be spending so much money on books this fall, and they're all going to be for me. Me. ME! Muahahahaaaaa!

Sorry. I have a head cold and it's making me a little woozy. :D

I'm reading a Dark Tower-themed short story in one of the Legends compilations.

The Little Sisters of Eluria.

Along with Martin's The Hedge Knight, the best stories in the Legends anthology, and worth the price of the book for those two stories alone.

An excellent short story, (although I'm biased, as Roland is one of my all time favourite characters :) ).

I read it in Everything's Eventual though.

The China Garden, by Liz Berry. It's a YA, but it's really very good. Lots of enviro-Celtic stuff, but with bikers and A-levels mixed in.

I bought Runes of the Earth today. My Local Barnes and Nobles had 24 copies....all in the back room on a shelf. I was deeply disturbed by this.

I bought 3 copies thursday, and I found them in a box on the counter of the information desk at my Barnes & Nobles. I was not disturbed at all by that.

I bought Runes at B & N yesterday at 3:45. I was informed the shipment came in an hour before hand. Yes the information guy had to go upstairs and get it, as well as for 3 other copies shortly there after-and then broke down and put 6 copies on the shelf. I was born disturbed! :P

While I wait for my copy of The Runes of the Earth, which I ordered from the SF Book Club, I'm reading the latest Repairman Jack novel, Crisscross, by F. Paul Wilson.

Jack is investigating a cult, which is disturbingly similar to Scientology. The plot developed slowly, but has picked up the pace with a bang.

If you like speculative thrillers, I highly recommend all the Repairman Jack novels. My favorite is All the Rage.

Finally got a copy of This Day All Gods Die - am one-quarter of the way through it. Runes and Shadowmarch should arrive in a week or so - Runes will be read first, of course.
