Alright fine.

Bilbo Baggins a quiet and unassuming hobbit minding his own business gets a visit from Gandalf the wizard telling him to expect him upon the morrow and lo the next day instead of the wizard a dwarf appears, then 11 more and he is run ragged serving them while they plot their next venture to recover a hoard of treasure rightfully belonging to Thorin the leader of the dwarfs.

is that enough to get it going? or am I missing something here??

This ever start properly?
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Check out the dissections forums for MN and TCTC to get an idea of how it's usually done. ;)

Nope, only the TC and MN books have been dissected. No others.

Best suggestion is to take it up with one of the mods of the Tolkein forum. Have fun. ;)

Besides, we'll prolly dissect The Gap and Runes of the Earth first. :D

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.
