My knee feels like someone is attempting to pry it into three pieces with the jaws of life. My hip feels like someone with a giant screwdriver and a hammer just succeeded in popping it out of its socket, and my cat threw up on my bed--for the eighth time...in a week.
I'm just dandy.
I'm just dandy.

If I were you, first, I'd get rid of all those people around torturing you with tools...then possible taking the cat to the vet.
You got the summer off soon, don't you?
You've gotta be feeling great!!

I thought you were a ripe grape
a cabernet sauvignon
a bottle in the cellar
the kind you keep for a really long time

I think it has something to do with the "killing deer" part of your avatar.........
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion
I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.

Speaking of Jays avatars i say BRING BACK THE BOOM STICK ONE!
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
Full of the heavens and time.

I'm having a nice, productive day off from work.
Took in my Jeep for its 21,000 mile checkup this morning & got its oil changed.
Got to drop in at my favorite little grocery store afterwards, Trader Joe's. Picked up lots of fresh organically grown produce and other goodies. I love that store. I can get a good sized bag of organically grown cashews for $3.50, less than half the price of a can of Planter's. Though that bag won't survive my older son's attentions for a single day. The prices there are so good, and the food is healthy. Even their teas and coffees are organically grown, and cost the same or less than the usual stuff that you find in regular grocery stores.
Then I went to Barnes & Noble and picked up a couple of books and a few music cd's. (Payday is sweet.)
My husband is off on Ohio today with every seventh grader in our school district. Their class trip is to a huge amusement park near Cleveland. I am so glad I did not get drafted into doing that, especially as I have a bad tendency to get motion sickness on certain types of rides.
And when I got home a few minutes ago there was a cute rabbit sitting in my driveway. We had a stare down for a couple of minutes, then it ran off, so I could finish pulling up to my house. Gave me a chuckle and a smile.

Stupid. These numbers I've been working with are so straightforward, but I had to run in circles before I figured them out.

Horrible. Due to "restructuring" in the department, I got laid off this week. And of course, unemployment went up in May. I've been promised good references, and have one little freelance thing lined up, but it's hardly a consolation.
If anyone has any advice for dealing with the anxiety & depression of losing one's job, now would be a good time to share. Cheering up is also welcome.
On the bright side, there is now a much smaller chance that I will ever have to label pictures of animal poop again. And I no longer have to deal with the girl known variously as "The Evil One," "Lumpy," and "The Stinky Girl With The Hair." Maybe this isn't so bad a thing after all. <sigh>

Halfway down the stairs Is the stair where I sit. There isn't any other stair quite like it. I'm not at the bottom, I'm not at the top; So this is the stair where I always stop.

I'm sure you'll find something so much better, so screw the bastards.
