I agree with what awas said earlier, about Kevin being a younger persons name.
Every time I've read anything on Kevin in the Chrons, I picture him as a 20something guys with wild ambision, but determined honesty in his eyes.
But of course he lived to be , what 1000 years?

I thought you were a ripe grape

a bottle in the cellar
the kind you keep for a really long time

'Oh, hello! So sorry about the Staff of Law! Foul-wife has made a terrible mistake! You know how the Dead are, they've only got one brain between the lot of them, well not all of them, but some of them have . . . Good heavens! Is that the time?'
Without the Quest, our lives will be wasted.
I agree, when i was pictureing Kevin he never even had a beard nevermind lived a millenia.drew wrote:I agree with what awas said earlier, about Kevin being a younger persons name.

But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.
Full of the heavens and time.

I think there is a thread about this somewhere.KAY1 wrote:LOL I always wondered where that came from cos who was there to bandage him after the Ritual and why would they if he was dead? Or was that from some previous battle? If that's the case though surely a smidgen of hurtloam would fix it?

This is the thread Warmark might be referring to: Kevin's Bandage
The idea that there is some kind of correlation between Kevin's head wound and Covenant's head wound in TIW is very interesting to me. The possibility of a Kevin-Covenant connection seems more plausible in my mind than the Berek-Covenant connection other folks subscribe to.

SRD wrote that before he conceived the final two chronicles, so it's unlikely to have any lasting significance. Unless that was something he "mined".
The text said that the bandage appeared to mask a mortal wound. Anything could have happened to cause that. Could it be Foul taunting Covenant? I doubt it, because Covenant had zero response to it. Besides, the Law of Death had not yet been broken, so Foul could not have "altered" Kevin's specter.
I think it's just a bandage, covering a wound Kevin suffered during his final hours. Imagine he and Foul at the Ritual of Desecration. There could have been a struggle. Perhaps Kevin didn't die immediately, and once the Ritual was performed Foul offed him.
Remember, SRD only tells us what he thinks we need to know. He probably thought that we didn't need to know what caused the bandage, and that a struggle between Kevin and Foul prior to or directly after the RoD was not only logical but likely, and expected us to pick up on that.

I always figured that the dead were just dead until the Law of Death was broken. Dead, gone, finished, existing only in the memory of the living, buried, taking dirt naps, dead.
I never pictured them gathering in an afterlife waiting for something to happen.
But, that's not to say it couldn't have been that way.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want
to test a man's character, give him power.

Excerpt from Animal Songs Never Written
"Hey, dad," croaked the vulture, "what are you eating?"
"Carrion, my wayward son."
"Will there be pieces when you are done?"
