Some Art I Stumbled Across

Post by Akasri »

I was looking for something totally unrelated to TCTC when I stumbled across an art page by Phil McDarby. You can see it here:

www.vyro-games.com/phil/site/

The picture that really caught my eye though was this one:

www.vyro-games.com/phil/site/caamora.html

Check it out!

*edit* It was made for a game programming site (which is how I found it) for a game engine called Wild Magic :)

Here's the site for the Wild Magic graphics engine. That's where I found the link to the pic.

It would be very cool if someone were to come along and develop a TC game using the Wild Magic engine, assuming it turns out as powerful and flexible as the best 3D engines currently out there. I would demand nothing less than the best graphics code to run a TC game.

Touché, Esmer.

Heh, the problem is that I'd have to get a whole new PC just to run this imaginary game.

Hmm, they could develop a TC game for the next-gen Xbox after the 360...

Quite like the way they show Coercri. Perhaps a bit massive-city like though? (How many UnHomed were there anyway? Do we know?)

Let's see... The only ones I remember mentioned by name are Saltheart Foamfollower, Sparlimb Keelsetter, and Stonetoe Placekicker, so that's no help.

Foamfollower said "less than a thousand Giants" originally landed at Seareach.

The only other giant I can remember was Wavenhair Haleall (the mother of the trplets).

There were less than 1000 that landed there, but didn't Saltheart say their numbers had been thinning over the centuries?

Might just be me, but 500 rings a bell for some reason.
I wonder if i just imagined that?

Maybe you're thinking of the Bloodguard, Warmark? They numbered 500.

 Weird...I'd also thought 500, (and even typed it), before realising that that was the BloodGuard.

So regardless, less than a thousand to start with. Coercri in that pic looks like a metropolis...much too big. Otherwise cool though...(except for the caamora happening in the sea. ;) )

(And thinking about it, I'd imagine the city as more "organic" looking, you know, like part of the rocks or something.)
