The latest words are:

Lucasfilm: looking for merchandisers for a summer 2008 release
Spielberg: working hard to get it into shape
Lucas: the script is done, trying to get Sean Connery on board
Ford: it is 99 3/4 % likely to happen
"Indiana Jones is going to be older" Ford explained, "And the story will therefore take place in a different historical period of time. We are not going back to World War II and the Nazis but I think that it will be relatively the same type of tale - George's special mix of Saturday matinee western serial and crypto-spiritual sort of stuff."

ah, but think about it, duchess: The best bits in the Indy movies are when he's getting patched up - that's what made the character engaging. Seeing him do it again could be interesting. Knowing Ford, he'll insist that his aging be a part of the plot, and knowing Spielberg, he'll find an entertaining, believable way to do it.

Marion: "Dammit, Indy! Where doesn't it hurt?!"
Indy: (Touches forehead) "Here."...
