Fair enough, something can indeed be planned and fail. I suppose it depends on what we think is doing the planning.
But if it was planned and failed, then it was meant to be the way it was planned. Not this way.
Then when that didn't work, it was meant to be the next plan, which also failed. And then it was meant to be the next, and so on, until it was meant to be this way.
To me, that doesn't count as it being meant to be this particular way...just meant to be whatever way happened to work first.
Not sure if I've made that understandable...

We seem to be using slightly different words for something simliar.
When you say something wasn't "meant to be" I simply say "it didn't work."
The only planning I am talking about in this context is the planning of those who actually try something. For example, the Framers of the US Constitution originally planned for the runner-up in the Presidential election to be Vice President. Well, when Thomas Jefferson was John Adams' VP they found out that didn't work and the Constitution was changed.

interesting ideas folks. Well use of force i think is never ever good. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth will only leave the whole world blind and hungry. If you are a peaceful and a good person you will find alternative methods like Gandhi did in India. To commit a violent act not only hurts another living being but it deprives yourself of a certain element of purity and sanctity of life and tarnishes it.
Yea yea i know-i should've been a Lord. I did take the Oath of Peace though.
