Got the local freebie newspaper delivered today, and on page 9 there is a full page advertising feature for a local hotel, exclusively revealing their Christmas festive offers.

It's only bloody April.

I was singing a Christmas Carol the other day, and I almost got beaten to a pulp by my coworkers. I'd like to think it wasn't my singing that drove them to it ;)

That is going too far. Bloody commercialism. . . I get so sick of walking into a mass merchandise store and seeing acoutrements for a holiday that is more than 3 months away! It nearly makes me want to boycott the store. . . if not the holiday!

And don't get me started on inflatable holiday decorations. . . I mean, do you really need the giant Santa, reindeer, pumpkin, turkey, or Easter bunny? What's next--inflatable hearts, Leprechauns? Wait. . don't forget the inflatable stars and stripes. . . how about a giant can of beer for Memorial Day and Labor Day? And then we could have inflatable presidents. . .

Everything that can be commercialised is being systematically commercialised more and more all the time these days.

while ranting
{
Talking of holidays (well, vacations for the Americans :P ).......
What gets me is when you go on organised tours and they insist on taking up your valuable time stopping at certain factory shops and the like .... they tour company has a business arrangement with the shop, and if anyone purchases anything the tour company gets a cut of the cherry.
I don't mind one or possibly two, but on a 5-day tour I had a few years ago we visited three in one day alone.
}
If you don't know what eschatology is then don't worry; it's not the end of the world.
