The Cigarette Prefered By Doctors
Moderator: Orlion
proud to say that I quit smoking 3 months ago, and i couldn't be happier. And a tip to all you recent quitters; if you've been smoke-free for at least two months, try a negative reinforcement trick. Smoke one Camel Wide fairly quickly. You'll feel great, then you will feel what I can only describe as the ultimate anti-smoking argument: powerful nausea, cold sweats, weakness and a powerful... well, almost abhorrance for nicotine. I guarantee I will never smoke again. Good luck!

Reminds me of a documentary on the history of illegal drugs I saw at Raen's. Each new drug invented was assumed to be the new miracle-drug. So you could buy Bayer Heroin!!!

It's hilarious that they argue more doctors smoke Camel than any other cigarette. But that could mean out of the minority of doctors who do smoke, a majority smoke camels. Not that most doctors smoke.
Smoking is disgusting. I dated a smoker last year and it wasn't getting intimate.

Obviously, before it was known how bad smoking was for you; there's nothing wrong with doctors smoking.
And saying that a brand is perferred by doctors...man that's just good advertising.
Nowadays...I can't beleive it when you see unhealthy doctors.
Doctors who smoke , or drink heavily or are grossly overweight.
How can you take medical advise from someone like that.
I deliver to to major hospitals in Halifax, and can't understand seing nurses and doctors outside smoking.
I mean I started smokeing when I was a kid (like most people), became a full time smoker in my late teens...but I decided to quit the night my first son was born. Luckily we were very young when he was born, so I really didn't smoke full time for all that many years.
I still smoke sometimes... not as much now; If I smoke when I drink, it makes me twice as hungover, so I gave up THAT vice (plus smoking has been illeagal in Nova Scotia in ALL public buildings..including bars for a good number of years now-) but occasionally if someone at work tosses one at me, I'll have one with them. (So maby two to three cigaretts per month)
I know I shouldn't..I have fairly weak lungs, mostly due to the fact that I was raised by two chain smokers, who wouldn't even crack a window in the car with their kids in it, let alone going out side to smoke.
-Heh-I remember my folks having to take me to the hospital, on MANY occasions to get oxygen and ventalin; and then they'd be smoking in car ride home.

That's child-abuse man. In fact, they've just passed a law here that you can't smoke in your car / whatever if you have a child under 12 with you. Why only under 12 I don't know, but anyway.
Yeah...so much for me quitting smoking btw. Still at it. Cut down a little, maybe, but it's just not happening for me right now.
Yeah Fist, IIRC, Heroin was developed to treat morphine addiction, sorta like they use methadone today to treat heroin addiction. What a joke.

Smoked for 20 years.. been quit for 9 years. I dont miss those crazy things especially after having watched my dad die from smoking induced lung cancer early this year. Watch a 190 lb man, wittled down to 85 lbs before he dies... that should be enough to make anyone quit.. Oh thats right.. its someone else.. odds are it wont happen to me. Actually heard my dad say that years ago.
However I feel for those trying to quit. It was incredibly hard. I quit for a year once and then thought I could be a 'casual' smoker. Yeah right.. smoked a few cigs at the bar the night before... started bumming em the next day.. bought a pack on the way home. After a few months I was able to get the motivation to try again. But this time I got it through my thick skull that I can NEVER smoke again. No cigars, no cigarettes, no chewing.. nothing. I treat tobacco as a reformed drug user would drugs. One cig and I would be a pack a day man by the end of the day so I dont.. 9 years and counting.
