Thanks Chrys...I do the best I can with my dated G2.
I wait for the day when I have enough money to upgrade.
But life has me spending elsewhere these days.
I will add more photos later...as I have a bunch I am proud of and would like to share... but I mostly think of the 499 crappy ones that I have before that 500th good one.

You're that good? Fortunate you!....even the photographers for National Geographic admit to taking hundreds of fotos to get one good one. Thats the way it is..We learn by doing. Take more fotos and sooner or later you'll get more good ones..or sumpthin like that. Thats why I really like the digital cameras..No film,,just batterys. Keep up the good work!!ur-bane wrote:but I mostly think of the 499 crappy ones that I have before that 500th good one.

That good? Hardly. Perhaps I phrased that wrong.....1 good shot out of every 500 is what I meant.
I just wish I could get the camera to photograph what my eye was actually seeing. Can anyone say "Canon implant" ?? hehe.

yea..thats the challenge with the digital camera..As I slowly get to know my camera I am slowly zeroing in on that ability..to get the camera to photograph what my eye was actually seeing..I've learned to use the " blue" emphasis feature and I use alot of " manual" setting function and work the Fstop or shutter speed for what ever advantage. Otherwise,,the editing features in the software for processing or " shopping" software,,is used to get as close as possible to what I actually saw..Then there are times when I say.. dam reality,,lets go for something else..Have fun!!

Not just a challenge with a digital camera...but with any camera.
My problem is working within the limits of my tools. I love my G2...but I am restricted by the fact that I cannot upgrade lenses. So, after I get my motorcycle, I will upgrade the cam, so I can at least get closer with my photos to what my eye is seeing.

Great photos guys!
Yeah, I saw a barn owl last week, but didn't have time to get my camera out and it would have been too far/fast to get a good shot anyway. My eyes are pretty good (for now), but I hope my memory lasts!ur-bane wrote:I just wish I could get the camera to photograph what my eye was actually seeing. Can anyone say "Canon implant" ?? hehe.

Sometimes our memories are truer than a photograph anyway...in that they are more than just visual.

Balon, those are cool. What was your shutter speed for that?
