After dropping 2 posts here on Kevin Watch I thought it would be appropriate to say hi here :D

I am a 34 year old dude from the Netherlands, and love the works of SRD very much, in special TCC.
First time I read Fouls Bane I was at the age of 13, and you probably arent surprised when I say I didnt understand much of it. Well, the deeper layers of the storyline I mean. The rest was quite clear and understandable for a young boy; power, fight the evil, victory.... but.....

What was it then what attracted me in TCC and kept reading the chronicles after finishing Fouls Bane? I'd rather start playing Lego again then sitting in my dad's chair reading these books.
Maybe it is the way how SRD plays with your mind. The very basics of emotions. He makes you angry on characters, confused, he let you smell what despair means, but also gives you love, for the land, the giants and many more beloving characters. It is all so pure, you just wanted to jump into the pages in front of you, and start helping defending the land. Where would I fit in best, Lillianril, or maybe be a lore student, haha... I had a rich imagination as a young boy, errr... I still do in fact ;)

Anyway, those memories just keep me reading TCC til this day and I look forward to the next chapters in the saga.

I hope to spend much time here and enjoy all off your writings.
The insights you all already gave me are amazing, keep on doing so...

Hi to all

Post by Spirit of the Knight »

I have been lurking around this forum from time to time and only now decided to register. I am almost obsessed with the TCOTC series and have read them about 10 times already. Just hanging out for AATE now. Another year to go - damn.

I do hope my time here is a pleasant one and look forward to engaging in some interesting discussion.

Be Welcome to the Watch, Spirit of the Knight.
Be Well Come and True.

Are you the spirit of a certain knight in particular?
Or the spirit of the overall chivalry most knights live by?

Hello Menolly and all, I like to think of myself as the spirit of all noble and valiant knights. I find myself in resonance with these virtuous beings and have come to believe that somewhere out there, either in the great cosmos or inner realms of existence there exists a world similar to the one beautifully described in SDs Land and that one day I shall be born into a world like this and, once again, live a life of chivalry, truth and real purpose.
