I also feel a bit uneasy about this. Of course being nominated flatters me ...

... but I come from another forum where things are different. Sure, it's full of tough guys and a n00b will only get "eat green s**tdie and die" responses for the first 100 posts (if you make it through it you're accepted - some sort of baptism of fire).

Yes, there are no word filters or language restrictions in any way and the etiquette requires the constant use of f-words, but one thing is absolutely out of bounds - and these are popularity contest threads (don't ask me why).

See, Vader, I could not and would not put up with a forum that treats members - whether old or new - in the abusive way you describe.
If KW became like that, I'd leave and never come back.
As for popularity contests: as it pertains to the Watchies, the "Watcher of the Year" is the only category I've consistently been ambivalent about.
Other than that, I think the Watchies are a wonderful thing. I'd be sad if KW stopped doing them.

It's more tongue in cheek and in accordance with the rather dark, sarcastic and twisted sort of humor the band (who's official forum it is) is known for.

But anyway - if in Rome do as the Romans (and no one forces you to go to Rome) - so here I am, a grown up man and member of KW by free will so it goes without saying that I'm fine with how things are going here (otherwise I wouldn't be here).
