Time passes so quickly...

5 years ago on March 7th a small flame went out, and my world became just a tad darker. And so did alot of people's here on the Watch. I was browsing and searching the Net for a quote to post here, and just couldn't seem to find one.

Then yesterday, I had the Sirius music station on, the one that plays hits from the 70's and 80's, and I heard this...

Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny)--Music by Elton John, Lyrics by Bernie Taupin...written in memory of John Lennon.

What happened here,
As the New York sunset disappeared?
I found an empty garden among the flagstones there.
Who lived here?
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot,
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop.
And now it all looks strange.
It's funny how one insect can damage so much grain.

And what's it for,
This little empty garden by the brownstone door?
And in the cracks along the sidewalk nothing grows no more.
Who lived here?
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot,
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop.
And we are so amazed! We're crippled and we're dazed....
A gardener like that one, no one can replace.

And I've been knocking, but no one answers.
And I've been knocking, most all the day.
Oh and I've been calling, oh hey, hey, Johnny!
Can't you come out to play?

And through their tears,
Some say he farmed his best in younger years.
But he'd have said that roots grow stronger, if only he could hear.
Who lived there?
He must have been a gardener that cared a lot,
Who weeded out the tears and grew a good crop.
Now we pray for rain, and with every drop that falls.....
We hear, we hear your name.....

And I've been knocking, but no one answers.
And I've been knocking, most all the day.
Oh and I've been calling ,oh hey, hey, Johnny!
Can't you come out to play,
In your empty garden?
Johnny?
Can't you come out to play, in your empty garden?

Perfect.

Isaiah, you are missed...and I love you.

And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

...for then I could fly away and be at rest. Sweet rest, Mom. We all love and miss you.

*sigh* I can't believe I missed it entirely this year. In my own defense, I'm an idiot. I can't be blamed.

I was remembering the day we brought him home. That first time he walked thru our front doors and just fell to his knees and said, "I'm home".

I saw an image of him this morning, sitting by the fireplace in the den, pouring over Stephen's journals, he looked up and smiled at me. Then was gone.

I sure needed that smile :D
And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

Perfect song Mom. :D

When I heard David Cook's "Permanant" I started crying, thinking about all the people we have lost to AIDS, and Grandpa to cancer. Peace be with them all.

And when they say it's all touch and go, I wish I could make it go away...

Sigh, the helplessness is the worst, isn't it? Watching the people you love going thru such suffering and you can do absolutely nothing to stop it. Breaks your heart...
For Myles--
When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

For Mom--
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings

Sweet peace indeed my friend, you are missed.

:hearts:
Tracie, I hope you don't mind, but I swiped this poem Isaiah wrote for my signature. I'm no writer and he said how I feel inside so perfectly.
Sweet peace come to me
Calm the chaos churning within
Sweet Jesus enwrap me
Enlighten my heart so dim

My soul seeks Thee
In breathless desperation it cries
Sweet Jesus enwrap me

6 years now.

What do you do when you're scared inside?
When all of your feelings just seem to collide
Emotions just seem to let go
All of your tears always follow

All of these things that you're feeling deep down
And you realize that you're calling out loud

I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
Rescue me, rescue me

What do you do when the path leads nowhere?
When you need someone to be there
Now you're afraid of what's gonna come
And now there's nowhere to run

All of these things that you're feeling deep down
Then you realize that you're calling out loud

I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
Rescue me, rescue me

Oh it's love's sweet salvation
With Christ the Blessed Lamb
We can get through anything as long as it's you and me

I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
I love Thee
Rescue me
Shine your light lead me home
Lord, all I need is your love
Rescue me, rescue me

As Mom would say...

"Sweet rest Isaiah."
For Myles--
When evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

For Mom--
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you
The wind beneath my wings

I missed Isaiah's passing anniversary this year. :(

When to the sessions of sweet silent thought
I summon up remembrance of things past,
I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought,
And with old woes new wail my dear time's waste:
Then can I drown an eye, unused to flow,
For precious friends hid in death's dateless night,
And weep afresh love's long since cancell'd woe,
And moan the expense of many a vanish'd sight:
Then can I grieve at grievances foregone,
And heavily from woe to woe tell o'er
The sad account of fore-bemoaned moan,
Which I now pay as if not paid before.
But if the while I think on thee, dear friend,
All losses are restored and sorrows end. ~William Shakespeare

7 years...where does the time go?

We love and miss you, Isaiah! Hail!

Fly...fly high against the sky...
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you

It certainly doesn't feel like 7 years. Seems just yesterday I was assuring him he would read Runes.

Furls has brought such a light to this place, so many beautiful people and he was among the brightest.

I'm honored to be a mod along with Furls. :Hail: For me there's no place like the Hall. I think this one is even more beautiful than SRD's, sorry sir.

"The Hall of Gifts is special to my heart. So many people have found such peace by reading Stephen's thread. I'm so happy I started it."

Mom said those words to Uncle Isaiah when he first arrived here at our house. And I remember he responded by saying, "I found more than that there, I found a family. Something I never really had before."
