All Time Favorite Comic Strip

My all Time Favorite Comic Strip?
BLOOM COUNTY / OUTLAND / OPUS
Image
Steve Dallas, Bill The Cat, Opus Penguin, what can I say? Berke Breathed has a peculiar take on life and humor that seems to hit me just right.

Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries

Bucky Katt
Aloof.. bizarre...sarcastic... volatile... He is a CAT, after all.

Image
Satchel Pooch
Good ol' Satchel tries to be everyone's best friend, but more often than not, he's caught in the middle of Bucky's mischief and Rob's admonishment. Innocent and well-meaning, if hopelessly naive.

Image
Rob Wilco
The stressed-out "guardian" of Bucky and Satchel, he works in an ad agency to support his unconventional family unit. He's a sincere, likable guy who can't seem to catch a break.

Heh.

Sorry, but Calvin and Hobbes is the greatest comic ever made. Ever. Calvin and Hobbes >>>>>>>> Everything.

I liked Calvin and Hobbes pretty well though it didn't seem to resonate with me like what Breathed did. If I were to choose a close second that I followed almost as obsesively as Bloom County I'd have to say The Far Side.

I vote for Calvin and Hobbes best myself, with 1960's era Peanuts and the Far Side running a close second.

As often as Sarge and I disagree, I've gotta say that Get Fuzzy is the best comic strip running.

Image Nancy
The spunky little girl who's the center of attention. Nancy is innocence and sass combined and has been charming readers for years. She's a tomboy who nevertheless likes to dress up in Aunt Fritzi's fancy clothes...a pug-faced kid who is, depending on the situation, a fun-loving, tantrum-throwing, cute and cheeky girl.

Image Sluggo
Nancy's best friend and constant companion. He's a sweet kid and a loyal friend but, according to Nancy, he sure has a lot to learn about women! Sluggo's certainly not the brightest kid in the gang, but he's always there when you need him.

Image Aunt Fritzi
Nancy's ultra-glamorous aunt. She's a fair and caring guardian to Nancy and inspires crushes from lots of men - two-dimensional and three-dimensional alike

Image Rollo
|??| kid in the gang with quite a good head for finance. You can bet that his lemonade business will be the most profitable on the block. Rollo's the only the character with a butler, but he's not too spoiled and is always considerate to his friends.

Image Irma
Nancy's friend. The two girls have been known to have their spats but they never last. Irma's around to join Nancy in those "little girl" escapades that Sluggo would never understand. [/b]

possibly the unfunniest comic strip ever.

Farside has to get my vote for best cartoon. But I wouldn't call it a comic strip.

I guess one of my favourites has to be Madam & Eve, a very popular (and extremely funny) take on many aspects of South African life.

I have always liked Calvin and Hobbes, but have to admit (as a little brother) Fox Trot is my favorite.

Calvin and Hobbes and Berserk, a japanese comic strip that's got a continuing story going and has lots of dark and mean stuff going on.
