New Poll on Kevin's Watch main page - Fav Scene
What do you all think of the new poll? Which scene did you vote for? Why? Do you think I covered some of the better scenes? Which ones do you think I missed?-jay
???
Not only the poll is missing! I posted a reply earlier today, and it is not even showing up. Wonder if I forgot to hit "submit".
"Do you have a wife?"
"At one time."
"What happened to her?"
"She has been dead."
"How long ago did she die?"
"Two thousand years."

I guess I'm just a diehard oldtimer...
I still route myself through the old pages--so should eveybody else, btw. I voted 4 the Bloodguard fighting Nom -- one option I would REALLY like 2 c are those weird-ass octopi things crushing the homes of the Stonedown that totally had me on the edge of my seat!
fall far and well Pilots!
Poll
So that was it! I voted for Lord Mhorams Victory, because it was so cool when the Krill sudently lit up, and Mhoram defeated the Raver.

Mhoram's Victory
I am changing my scene to Lord Mhoram's Victory. Can't believe I forgot that one (but then I didn't see the poll, still haven't, but I will take everyone's word for it).

Favorite Scene
I voted for Mhoram's Victory, and felt it was an easy decision given the choices presented.
As far as what others I would have liked to have seen on the poll, almost anything involving IW: Troy's first glimpse at Foul's army from the watch, the scenes introducing the lurker, or the Raver (Fleshharrower was it?) raising the tidal wave over Coerci.

poll
I voted for the final victory in WGW, but it was a tough choice between that and Mhoram's victory. But the scene I *really* want to see in the movie version (assuming there ever is one...) is the climax in the home of the One Tree.
Re: Fav Scene
Lord Mhoram's Victory was my fav, but second has to be Convenant's Caamora to the Dead Giants. That brought some serious emotions.

Off the top of my head, a few of my favourite scenes would be:
- Linden standing atop Mount Thunder, with the Staff of Law held high and the white gold blazing, reaching out to heal The Land of the Sunbane, and restoring the Earthpower. Freakin' awesome.
Mhoram agreeing to release Covenant to save the girl of his own world. I was in tears!
Mhoram opening up big can of whup-ass on the ur-viles. I think I even punched the air.
Involvement
Wow, Caer! Talk about getting into a book... Actually, I know just what you mean, and I really like those scenes as well.

Scenes.. HMM
Some of my favorite scenes would have to be the Rape of Lena Scene (Which I'd Really Like to See IN A Movie)
The scene when they are outside of Revelstone

NO, I certaintly hope that if there's a movie thay won't do the Rape of Lena scene at all graphically......indeed, if it's there at all I probably wouldn't be allowed to see it until I've moved out of this house..... WHY would you like to see it in a movie????

The rape of Lena
I was wondering the same thing, Lauralin.

mmm ... I dont think SRD ever wrote the 'rape of Lena scene' as a highlight .. or in anyway to be remotely lude or perverse ..
I know its hard to appreciate a rape .. as anything other than that .. but this was quite different imo .. and this is commonly the one issue that most people have a hard time reconciling SRD's Chronicles with ..
I am not sure I understand why it is a fav scene .. but imo .. the rape was present in the narrative to illustrate TC's level of deprivation in respect to his senses .. through the contracting of Hansens disease .. all feeling .. was denied him .. he was further cursed by the disease that he was also totally impotent and incapable of satisying or performing 'normal' sexual functions ..
The healing that he experienced from the hurtloam .. restored his sense of feeling .. and while dreaming (as he fully believed he was) he gave himself permission to indulge this new found feeling ..
Even in his dreamstate, however, he immediately acknowledged he committed a wrong .. a heinous wrong .. and flagilated himself till his own untimely death .. for giving into this desire ..
It is such a sensitive issue in the books that I too cant evisage how it could be portrayed adequately in film ..
