Yay, congrats!

It's official. YAY! www.news.com.au/travel/news/escapes-you ... 6285930880

Unfortunately the ning-nongs have said the shot was taken in the US! <groan> So I've contacted them over that. You'd think if they didn't know it they'd google it to see where it was instead of assuming.

Lol! So the runner up guy in the competition (that got 7000+ votes) is currently complaining on the competition's Facebook page about the voting system, saying: "The voting system for these photos is not fair, an individual can keep voting for their own photo over and over again, unfortunatly the "best" photo may not win due to this point."

Sour grapes? Pot calling the kettle black? The idiot!

:LOLS: Both clearly. Or all three, as the case may be. :D

Now, I agree, but there's no way to prevent it with an online vote. Even if you use cookies and whatnot, people can wipe them.

Clear cookies? Really. I never knew that. I'll store that informaiton for later use in case I need it <grin>. Although I'd always thought that if I needed to do it I could just turn my internet box thingy on and off, and then as far as I know I get a new ISP thingy whatsit. LOL! Yep, I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO technologically advanced!!!

Is it safe to assume that if he'd won, he wouldn't be complaining?

Congrats again, Sea! :)

I guess it's obvious how he spent his time, voting for his photo.

Well, don't think we'll be cashing in anytime soon. They've changed the competition so you now get a travel voucher rather than cash. Bit of a stupidly run competition since when I entered it was cash rather than a voucher...but, well... If I win the final then I'll have enough to at least get to the States sometime in the near future.

But I'll still shout everyone a drinky! :D Just coz I'm that kinda gal! ;)

Well, whoever can complain like that, BUT though I probably wasn't as committed as some, I still TRIED to vote a bunch of times, and it didn't work once, at all. literally not once.

Well thanks for trying Vraith. :) We did work out if you're running Google Chrome the voting thing won't work, which might have been your problem?

Coming to New Mexico in the not so near future just got a bit more real, wouldn't you agree?

Well, that's the hope--that I get to the next Fest. I think if I have to sit on the other side of the world and hear about another one I might just go bonkers!
