Sleuth was a great movie, and I agree than no remake is necessary.

The original was fantastic and starred Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine. In the remake, they have Michael Caine (playing Olivier's role) and Jude Law ...
Maybe they'll be using fancy, gratuitous 3D graphics on slick, modern kumpewters to do their sleuthing...sounds interesting, yet, I'm sorry to sound like a prude, "WHY" remake this classic? There is nothing about it that needs a revamp! No updated FX needed, no obsolete references...
