I'm with Av...The Chronicles got me in the heart...the Gap got me in the mind. And I agree that the writing is a lot better as far as from sentence to sentence.

I bumped it. Considerably. Let's move this over there, where it's the main topic.

I prefer the second Chrons over the Gap cycle. The sheer beauty and fever of SRD's idea provoked such vivid pictures as I read Chrons 2.

I'd be up for a Gap dissection. But Jen is right--FR will be a huge roadblock. Why don't we just dissect FR instead?

we're not going to do the entire Gap before FR comes out, malik, only TRS.
we think we can do that one pretty quick.
if you'd like to be involved in that, i'll be happy to add you to the list.

That sounds doable. I haven't read much of this thread; I suppose the next book is scheduled with a nice break in order to let everyone read FR? How long of break? Does it include plenty of time to discuss FR? I can imagine that going on for months. Heck, we're still talking about Runes. :)

Whatever the schedule, put me on the list. It's been years since I journeyed into the Gap. You can put me down for the stripper cutting her tits off chapter.

Just kidding. :) I'd settle for the Angus licking anus chapter. My, there are too many good ones to choose from!

It's been a while since I last read the Gap, and I've never done this kind of thing before, but I think I'd like to maybe give it a try... although it sounds like the kind of stuff I had trouble with in high school English--analyzing literature and all.

Nah, you can analyse as much or as little as you want. :D

Don't look at it as "analyzing literature." That sounds boring. Look at it as a chance to debate and argue without the uncomfortable personal nature of politics. It's Think Tank Lite. :)

Or, you can just look at it as a chance to "gush" about your favorite author.

Are there that many chapters in RS?

Hey, all: don't SIGN up unless you SHOW up!

The Runes dissection was blighted by watchers disappearing and never doing their chapter. It was about 20% of the time, prolly. If it wasn't for a stalwart cadre of emergency backup dissecters... :shiver:

(This happened because our dissection spanned literally more than a year of calendar time. )

weewax way...

ain't no slackers here. :P ;)

this is sign up for Gap Dissection.
we'll do TRS first, then discuss, after FR comes out,
when we want to do the rest of the books.
all comers welcome.
if someone doesn't get to do a chpt in TRS.
there will undoubtedly be chpts to do in the rest of the series.

And the starting date is when?

The starting date has probably already been set, but I have forgotten it. In other words there's a Gap in my memory about it.

Let me know so I have time to dig the books out of the attic. (Even the very good ones eventually end up there with hundreds of others.)
