No, no, no! My apologies!! Truly!! I didn't mean it like that. I just mean in general terms. "She thought I'd lost interest" brought that kind of thing to mind, but I wasn't thinking that was the beginning and end of your situation. People do that kind of thing, though, and I wanted to put it in people's mind. :D

Cov, sweetie, I don't think Fist meant to blame YOU for the relationship woes. He was just advising you to keep up the romantic gestures. 8) I'm glad you guys figured it out. May there be many silly romantic giggly makeout sessions in your near future. ;)

i have mixed emotions about today. today my son turns 15 y.o. i just can't believe how big he is and how fast the time has passed. it seems like it wasn't too long ago he was riding on the back of my bike yelling, 'faster, mommy.' i am so proud of that kid! he is such a good guy. so anyway, i am happy that is growing up and i am sad that he is growing up. typical mom, right?

Hey, Cov...I've been through that a couple of times. To be honest, learning how better to communicate worked worlds better than any amount of flowers or gifts. The dates help, as it seems nice to get out of the familiar and speak face to face. Camping trips worked better though, but everyone is different. But mainly figuring out how to communicate with each other, and how better to do that seems to recharge better than anything, unless it is a forced thing that someone resents. I've heard the Ungame works pretty well, even though the questions are a little dumb, most of the time. But the concept is good....something of a game, but with topics that lead to conversation, and more specifically conversation about each other.

What's the ungame, Cag?

It's a "game" that encourages conversation. Probably developed by a therapist. Certainly is used by them. I worked at a mental health non-profit for a while, and many of the therapists had them. From brief readings of the cards, it seems a bit touchy-feely, but it might inspire.

I'm not sure it's possible to overestimate the importance of communication in a relationship.
