The 70's Marvel one. The Jim Starlin issues made me a fan for life.

I need to find if they have collected the Starlin run. I love the cosmic side of Marvel. I am collecting the Quasar run.

I always liked her because her power is so unique but, sadly, she was always underused and no writer was able to properly explore what her power could really do.

they should have not used the Captain Marvel name for her. Photon would worked. but Marvel needed to keep the copywrite up.

I concur--some other name would have been better. Photon, Pulse, Pulsar, Quasar, Spectra, anything.

Oh, yeah--I forgot about him.

She is of French descent, so use "Lumiere", the French word for "light". *shrug*

They both have the Black Panther in them, too. IIRC, he's the guy that gave the Falcon his wings. No. 164 is a gem, drawn by Allen Weiss with some assist from Jim Starlin.

Yeah, Wakanda had serious technology. Also, it's the only source of vibranium in the world.

actually, there is a type of Vibranium in Antartica.

Vibranium was first deposited on Earth by a meteorite 10,000 years ago. The first documented discovery of Vibranium was during a human expedition to Antarctica. This particular isotope of Vibranium was dubbed "Anti-Metal" due to its property of dissolving other metals

A different variety of Vibranium found in Wakanda absorbs soundwaves

Antarctic variety

Better known as Anti-Metal, this isotope is native to the Savage Land. This variation produces vibrations of a specific wavelength that breaks down the molecular bonds in other metals (including adamantium), causing them to liquefy. If huge quantities of anti-metal are gathered together, the vibrations increase exponentially

Anti-Metal is able to become an artificial and unstable form of the Wakandan variety of vibranium through certain particle bombardments on it.

sorry - my geek alert was set off.

More $1 sale stuff:

Doom Patrol (original series) 1 194, 96, 98, 100, 107, 110, 112-115 (2nd series) 1-5, 19, 21-29, 37-38, 41-42

Daredevil 306-319

Amazing Spiderman 134, 137

Uncanny X-Men 334, 389, 402, 411, 434, 436, 439-441

Nova (original series) 1

The original DP's are in poor condition, but I figured they're worth a buck apiece for the stories.....I never had them when I was a kid, but was always interested in them from the Teen Titan issues they appeared in. And no, the Spideys didn't cost me a buck each, tho they were half price.
