Yeah. TC has been cast to death, tho. Lots of others characters have, too. I tried to pick three that had not really had a lot of discussion before. And they all had to be in the same movie, but also had to not be in the previous movie, which made it tougher.

I just watched Willow for the first time on Saturday. Great movie.

Now, to get back on topic, I think your acting picks are pretty good.

OK...my choices would be impossible to cast, but if I had a caesure in which to cull the cast at the perfect times...
(I admit the way I picture the characters is probably way different from anyone else)

Believe it or not...

Image
Benny Hill as L-rd Hyrim...

I have to cast both parts for Gay/Rue...

Winhome Gay

Manethrall Rue

...both played by Audrey Hepburn...

and finally...

Amok

...played by a very young Mickey Rooney...

When I first saw Mark Vande Brake in Willow I thought, "Oh he would be the perfect Amok if they ever make the Chrons into movies. Thanks for the support Auleliel. Menolly, I think Hepburn is too elegant. I picked Dushku because she's beautiful and she has a tomboy element that I always pictured all the manethrall females to possess. I think Hepburn would make a better Elena. Benny Hill is an interesting choice.

Elegant?
Always.

But a tomboy as well?
You bet.

But as I said, I'm not selling my vision of how I see the characters to anyone as I doubt anyone would picture the characters as I do. These are how I saw the characters as I first read the books. Not actors I saw later that I said, "oh, <actor's name> would make the perfect <character's name> is they ever made a movie of the chrons." This is how I visualized them; I just had to find the pictures to match what I saw.

I have a very hard time picturing Hepburn running through a field and garroting kresh. Picturing Dushku doing it is easy.

*shrug*

Ever see her pictures in the refugee camps when she was ambassador for UNICEF?
Kresh garroting would be easy, compared to what she lived.

I admit though, I am a hardcore Audrey Hepburn fan. Not necessarily of the actress, but of the woman and lady.

...just wanted to say I agree here...if we are talking about a young Katherine Hepburn...
Strength, power, force of will, and beauty.
And also a lover of horses, or so I understand.

But, I digress, as we're not talking Elena here...

I'm gonna digress a bit. What about Katherine as Lena?

*shakes head*

No...
I've always seen Lena more innocent, fragile than Katherine ever portrayed. Katherine was way more "hard as nails."

Nowadays I see Lena as a young Charlize Theron, doing vulnerable.

*you'll never, ever, in a million years, imagine who I pictured Lena as when I first read the book*

...but maybe this should be moved to the TC movie forum, even though I don't frequent that area...

There is no such thing as 'too' elegant.

Did no one pick up on the hint? Or do you wish really wish to cast dead people?
