Memla is the only one who had a normal, human lifespan.

Hey! That was a good one, Fist!
But, alas, no where close to what I'm looking for.
If I was looking for a normal Human life span, I wouldn't put non-humans in there.
OK - it is Memla. But think meaty here, no feathers and fluff.
I don't think the answer is obscure, just difficult - until you see it!

I was gonna say that Memla was the only one who needed a tool to use power, but So did Sunder and Kasreyn.
Memla isn't the only one to hate themselves for the way they had operated ... Sunder fits that bill.
Memla sacrificed herself for the cause ... but so did Foamfollower ... twice ...
Every one of those people were disappointed in their kinfolk, exept perhaps Kasreyn, nah, him too.
Memla probably never smiled, but then either would have Bannor.
I'm lost

Memla was the only one who served the Clave and was also a good guy? (well, good girl)?

before Sunder met TC he served the Clave too .. kinda .. and once he learned the Clave's deception he also became a good guy
Memla was equally decieved .. but she sacrificed herself .. oh no .. so did Foamy
So you're saying the answer is Memla .. and we need to work out why?
mmm ... tuff

I'll go with Berek being the only one born in the Land.

No, mate, no
(actually I think Berek was born in the Kingdom, anyway, right? Down south?)

I don't think we really have enough info. At least parts of the Kingdom, including the capitol, Doriender Corishev, were in the Land. But who knows where Berek was born.

Berek never spoke to TC?
