I strut down the street, my new wellingtons doing a two-legged clip-clip on the sidewalk. Today I am headed to the video arcade in lieu of work. My interest in work peaked weakly long ago; now I look forward to 10 minutes of Galaga more than any amount of time doing anything work-related.

Sitting in the pub, I watched my opponent fidget nervously, fingering both his queen-side knight and its protecting pawn. I took a long sip of Guinness, having nothing else to do while waiting and watching. Then suddenly he advanced a different pawn, opening up my soon-to-be-usurper queen to an empty threat from his white bishop.
