You want great DeNiro, watch Heat. Ironically his last great performance. Neil McCauley is every bit as memorable as Travis Bickle.

Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Heat--it's all great De Niro! Deer Hunter, too.

Oh yeah, The Deer Hunter is awesome. Hard to believe this is the same actor that did Meet the Parents and Analyze This/That.

The Prince of Tides, such a powerful movie. And even after 15 years, I'm still infuriated that Barbra Streisand did NOT get nominated for Best Director that year at the Oscars. The movie was nominated for Best Picture, but she was snubbed. :x

I have to agree that it's really odd for a movie to be nominated for Best Picture, but the director to be ignored. As if they had nothing to do with its' success...

Just opened up my boxed set of the complete Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Buck's frozen ship has just been taken aboard the Draconia.

Discovery: Princess Ardala's henchman Kane is played by the same guy who played the big-shot "Ghost Dog" gangster whose daughter is so important to him. Don't let that wig near me -- it looks crawly. :P

Today I watched Dodgeball. Yesterday, Closer. The day before that, Mulholland Drive.
Today I also watched the first twenty minutes of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and the first half hour of 2001: A Space Oddysey. The first was rubbish, the second boring (I may attempt that one again sometime, but I have a real intolerance for older films).

But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

I bought the Fourth Season of the Simpsons, but two of the little things in the middle that hold the DVDs in place were broken. Second time this week I've bought something new, only to find something wrong with it. Bah.

Geez...If I see one more preview on TV for this movie that mentions "pure unadulterated suspense", I'm going to take a hammer to the TV. Movies that have to put cheesy quotes from critics in the previews to make them sound good are so annoying, especially if the movie sucks. :P

That aside, it does look pretty good. I'll wait for the rental, though.
