Well, then, you can see the source of my confusion.

Isn't Frostheart a recent name change?

The catholic church is the largest pro-pedophillia group in the world, and every member of it is guilty of supporting the rape of children, the ensuing protection of the rapists, and the continuing suffering of the victims.

Sylvanus -> Caer Sylvanus -> Syl -> [Syl]
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

ussusimiel from the start (my first ever (and still only) Internet tag
)
I understand the fun in having an alter. My favourite is Dread Poet Jethro, the superb haikuist. I enjoy not knowing who's alter it is. I have fun trying to figure out who shows that mastery of language in their 'normal' posts.
Or you could just ask the person
(Unless it's in the 'Tank they won't snap at you, thinking it's a conspiracy and demand justification, links and evidence to back up the request
)

MsMary, if you have time you can do a little sleuthing by searching the person's old posts because when somone is quoted or addressed in old posts their tag at that time is what remains archived.MsMary wrote:When I came back, it was obvious some longtime members had changed their names, but I've never been able to figure out who they were before.

Your various names are so similar, I always knew it was you.[Syl] wrote:Sylvanus -> Caer Sylvanus -> Syl -> [Syl]

I enjoy the Dread Poet Jethro, too. I think it was revealed recently who it is, but I don't remember who.ussusimiel wrote:I understand the fun in having an alter. My favourite is Dread Poet Jethro, the superb haikuist.

Oh, I know that. That's how I figured out Frostheart was a name change. But it's time-consuming.ussusimiel wrote:MsMary, if you have time you can do a little sleuthing by searching the person's old posts because when somone is quoted or addressed in old posts their tag at that time is what remains archived.MsMary wrote:When I came back, it was obvious some longtime members had changed their names, but I've never been able to figure out who they were before.
I don't really care that much except when someone who is talking who I think I should know and can't figure out who it is.

Took me a few seconds to figure out who Frostheart is. Well, I remembered that was her post)
That's actually how I usually trace the name-changing people, I look through their old posts in the search.
And I got to join the praise to Dread Poet Jethro)
I never tried to write haiku, interesting, maybe I'll try...
Never wrote haiku
May I be inspired now?
I'll thank you for that

Current list, even with GT, will update when needed, current as of 08/21/2012.
*Circles the hidden inscriptions several times, throwing some glowing dust into the air, widens the circles to include all the inscriptions here*
*Throws up some more of the glowing, fiery dust and says: "Now the innocent worried or curious people may come and look and dispel their confusion, but should a cheater come and look and use the meta-knowledge to spoil the games, he/she/it has to suffer the consequences: smelling like fruits rotting under the Sun of Pestilence, like Cthulhu's old socks, and thus until dropping that behavior and taking part in the role-play well"*
Spoiler
Lord Foul (right, the new one)
The Perfect One (sourced from my parody movie script in the Bad Writing Game)
Storyteller (not active now, waiting to be inspired for something fitting)
Zafmael (Inferno, Gt)
MistyLightShadow (long time ago, don't remember the password now)
Azathaerlth (Heart Of God, GT)

Maybe sticky this one? lorin suggested having a sticky topic with alts, and looks like this one is not too intuitive. And perhaps rename it a bit - add that it's about alts, the name is a bit poetic) Something like "Who else are we? Alts list"
Also, as more of a mild suggestion - perhaps it will be better to hide the alt names under spoilers, in other topics as well, if possible. Some people prefer to guess them, not to stumble upon. And having them under spoilers at least can maybe make those who have alts more comfortable with having them known - at least those interested not to get shaken out of the role-play mood may not look under the spoilers. And for anyone interested to know it's not any much difference - unless they don't know how to use spoilers, and the lack of such knowledge should better get known and fixed.
