Damn! Can't remember it word for word. Something about the dark man being in the west, and that they were going to Mother Abigail instead?
(They revised The Gunslinger to change who made her pregnant? (In the original it was Walter, the Man in Black.) What else did they change, and why? )

The old woman from the dreams is in Nebraska. Her name is Abagail. The dark man is in the west. Maybe Vegas.
here's what the DT Net says:
The Revised edition of The Gunslinger was released in June of 2003 in preparation for the final volumes of the Dark Tower saga. The Revised edition has added and fixed material in order to, as King put it, make it flow better with the rest of the series. Many argue about whether or not it is better or worse than the original Gunslinger. Along with the addition and removal of certain things in this version there is a distinct change in style and tone that gives power to those who prefer the original.

A very thorough collection of differences can be found in this book. GET THIS ONE!!! here.
thedarktower.net/gunslinger/index.php
Notable ones Include
Roland has a feeling similar to todash in the beginning, foreshadowing the loop.
The number '19' is introduced.
Maeryln and the Beast are changed to Legion and the Crimson King
Walter is really Marten (thus making him another form of Flagg)
SEEE! that's why i didn't get that other question...i'm completely confused by the walter/marten/flagg thing!!!

No damnit! We're gonna start calling King George Lucas. Bad changes. Bad. I ignore the revised edition.
Question:
What only act of
real magic did Roland ever witness?

Nope.
Real as in that's how he described it, contrasting it specifically to the tricks of charlatans etc.

Nope...he's reminiscing. Think it's in the first book actually.
(I thought looking it up was cheating?) It's just where he talks about seeing Dennis and the other kid from Eyes of the Dragon in the ruins of Gilead afterthe war with Farson.

ok man...i've just gone cover to cover in Gunslinger and do NOT find this reference.
the man in black lights the fire with blue flame at the palaver but other than that, i could not find the incident you refer to. it must be in W&G, Av.
(don't mind me, i like research)
