I just payed my rent. So, like that English lady who went on a diet, I feel several hundred pounds lighter.

Was just feeling tired and twitchy. Now feeling, tired, twitchy and FRUSTRATED! Whoever thought working from home via email was a good idea is wrong, horribly wrong.
We're trying to update our website, and it's all a mess right now. Emails started to bounce around of people accusing each other of things, and nobody was answering any of mine except the web tech who everybody else blamed for being unresponsive. Now we're back on track, but I can't tell at what point in the transfer they are... doesn't help that I'm at home, my supervisor's at the office, and all the web techs are in still another office, twenty minutes and a conceptual mile away from the rest of us. Behold, the efficiency of government.

I finally managed, by dint of hours of unpaid overtime, to get the big stuff back on schedule, yet my boss is pissed at me because I didn't get one of the little things done.
In other words, I had a bad enough day that I'm thinking longingly of my old job in retail.

Came home around 1:00 AM after a fun time with my friend Seth. Had bought Season 4 of the Simpsons, only to find, after opening it, that the little things in the middle that keeps the DVDs in place were broken off. Bah.
On the upside, I do feel rather good today. I think I'm just going to take it easy, record some music, and cap it off with some StarCraft. Going to try and finish the Terran campaign tonight.

Feeling pretty good. Nice weather outside, Mahler's #9 playing on the surround sound.

SACD or Matrix - it does not look like #9 is available on DVD-Audio ?

Just a regular CD, to my knowledge. Playing it on my DVD player; it's from L. Bernstein's first Mahler cycle--circa 69, I think.

Then matrix, which simply means stereo converted to surround using some post-processing, such as Dolby Prologic or such.

I'm sorry to hear that you're stressed out. I know how you feel...heh. On top of my regular work, I'm 2 weeks behind in grading homeworks.
Maybe I'll just give them all C's and be done with it...hm...tempting...
Oh well, back to grading...
Woops, my head made a bit of a mess. My bad. That'll leave a stain in the computer lab...

Things are picking up. I'm being a little more firm about turning down projects when I need to, and seeing an upturn in the ones I'm involved with.

Well, I spent 3 hours or so at the emergency room yesterday. They gave me an EKG, took my blood, got X-rays of my chest. I’ve been having pain in the left side of my chest lately. It’s non-existent when I’m indoors, but, when I’m walking around outside, I start to feel a dull pain. It’s nothing noticeable, but when I start to jog, the pain becomes rather intense--to the point that I have to slow down my pace. I thought it would go away, but it continued for two days.
The nurse had to stick me twice to take my blood, because my veins kept rolling around. I knew my body would betray me, the stinking bastage!
But anyway, I’m just kind of depressed because the doctor’s said I shouldn’t jog for about a week. What the crap am I going to do to stay healthy? I guess I can still walk and do crunches, but damn it!

Are you in Europe now? So close, yet so...not

Apparently I have appendicitis.

Hope all the tests come back okay, Foul.
