Well, whilst we are on the subject of Stonedowns and Woodhelven (is that the correct plural, not sure), here's a question of sorts:
Six stonedowns and four woodhelven are mentioned in the entire chronicles so far - what are they and how do we know about them?

Stonedowns
Mithil - By Kevins watch; this one is home to Lena and her family, among many others.
During - (sp?) Hamako's home. He relates to TC the fate of During and how he came to live among the Ur Viles
Crystal - Home to Holian, eh-brand of Crystal Stonedown
Gleam- overrun by Kresh, as related by Sunder
RevelStone - Not sure this counts as a stone down. Home of the Old Lords, New Lords, then the Clave, finally the BloodGuard
Woodhelvinn
Soaring Woodhelvinn- TC given the test of lianniarr here on his way to Revelstone; later burnt by Foul's minions.
StoneMight - Where TC escapes by commandign Vain; they have a fragment of the illearth stone in 2nd chrons.
Revelwood - New Lords built this as a counterpoint to Revelstone, as a place of study of LLianiar.
I am missing one or two....

There were no kresh in 2nd Chronicles that I can recall. I thought the answer could be found in TPTP, but I can't find it now. There is no listing of "Gleam Stonedown" in any of the glossaries. I'm unconvinced.

That's four Stonedowns and two Woodhelven - Revelstone and Revelwood don't count.
dlbpharmd - I am looking for the chapter reference for Gleam Stonedown but having a little trouble. I'll let you know when I find it. Warmark, if you could help it would be good.

I am stumped on the last 2 of each. I remember a mention of another stonedown near Mirkwood or Garroting Deep, and the characters saying those people must have had some agreement with the forrestal in order to live there unopposed. But I do not remember the name.
Great question!

Landsverge Stonedown - mentioned in WGW, it was decimated by Riders of the Clave.
Far Woodhelven - also from WGW, it was the first village visited by Sunder and Hollian leaving the Search at Seareach.

Dang. I did know landsverge and forgot to add it. Didnt remember Far until you mentioned it, but would never have recalled the name.
As far as gleam, did anyone find the reference? I do seem to remember Sunder making such a comment, but dont want to re-read the entire second chrons to find it.
WarMark! where is the reference?

Ah, only one of each left. Keep thinking peoples.
Have been skim reading
The Wounded Land, but haven't found the reference yet. Warmark?

Like I said before, I don't remember any kresh in 2nd Chronicles. None of the animals mentioned in 1st Chronicles make an appearance in 2nd (because of the Sunbane.)
I originally thought the answer must be in TPTP, and I thought that Triock must've been the person who told about it. However, I re-read the chapters where TC was summoned to the Land by Triock and Foamfollower, and the subsequent battle against the marauders in defense of Mithil Stonedown. I could not find anything about it there.
I'm starting to obsess over this, so Warmark, if you would be so kind......

Yes, now I am looking. I thought perhaps Hamako had said something in TPTP but nothing was found.

help!

I am sure it is in the second chronicles, and either Sudner Hollian or Hamako talk about it - I'll start skimming through White Gold Wielder tonight.

In WGW when Sunder and Hollian are reunited with the Search, Sunder mentions several villages but only Far Woodhelven and Landsverge Stonedown are named.

Hmmm, annoying. Warmark - hurry up!
I know the references for the other two though - the last stonedown and the last woodhelven. Anyone found them yet?
I'll give you a clue - the stonedown is in the Second Chronicles, the woodhelven in the First.

Heh, sorry for taking so long to get back - Pc Died last week only got it fixed now.
Gleam Stonedown is correct.
But you have the reference wrong.
It is from Triocks chapter in TPTP - Message to Revelstone i believe. Also it is only mentioned in passing.
I'll go and find the exact quote now.

OK : Exact quote page 893 ( Message to Revelstone TPTP Chapter 7 )of my paperback 1st Chrons.
Triock had never had to fight kresh, but he had seen what they could do. A year ago, one huge pack had annihilated the whole population of Gleam Stonedown, in the crystal hills near the joining of the Black and Mithil rivers : and when Triock had walked through the deserted village he had found nothing but rent clothes and splinters of bone.

Thanks, Warmark - and congratulations on stumping us!

Thanks Warmark.
Now, can anyone guess the last stonedown and woodhelven? Here's the list of the ones we have so far:
Mithil Stonedown
During Stonedown
Crystal Stonedown
Landsverge Stonedown
Gleam Stonedown
Soaring Woodhelven
Stonemight Woodhelven
Far Woodhelven
Clue 1 - The last stonedown is in the second chronicles and the last woodhelven is in the first chronicles.
Clue 2 -
Lord Foul's Bane and
The Wounded Land are the books to check.
Happy hunting

Windshorn Stonedown - raided the crops of Mithil Stonedown prior to Covenant's arrival in the Land, in TWL.

Excellent work Don.
I'll give you a third clue on the last woodhelven, as it isn't mentioned in the glossary at all. It appears but once in
Lord Foul's Bane in the second half of the book, after Covenant reaches Revelstone.
