It's called a Litter Maid. It has some sort of motion or weight detector to determing when a cat has entered the box. About five minutes later it rums a huge comb throught the box and removes whatever the cat left behind by dumping it into the waste receptacle at the end. Every couple of days you just change the plastic receptacle. At least once a week I still scrub it out and completely replace the litter, though. And you have to use the clumping kind so the comb can take care of BOTH sorts of cat leavings.

Duchess, where did you get it? We have a new addition to the family - a six week old kitten! I'm back in the dark ages also with the scoop and flush method!

Cingratulations on the new baby, Caamora! I got my fancy litter box at Target. I think they also have them at Wal-Mart and pet stores.

I feel bad for the two of you. Cats are soft and sweet and they purr, which might be one of the most soothing sounds in the world.

My cat dribbles uncontrollably when he's snuggling on my lap - I need to wear a raincoat .
