This is a great thread!

Hi, my real name is Michael Rowlands. I just turned 30 a couple of weeks ago. I'm fortunate that I look young for my age, as many people think I'm 23-25. I have gypsy in my family, as my father's half-gypsy. I have dark hair, green eyes, and I'm tall and slim. I'm not married, and am currently enjoying being single after a bad relationship last year. I have epilepsy and am unable to drive so I tend to use alot of public transport. Jeez, I'm opening up, here! ;) I live in a small country town named, Woodford, which is an hour's drive north of Brisbane. I live on 2 acres amid trees and lots of wildlife. Very relaxing.

I study Psychology - particularly Neuropsychology - in Brisbane and am about to start Honours in February. I love study and am working hard to get my phd within 4 years. I tend to be very opinionated on subjects and have been accused of being permanently on a soapbox; so if I offend people in this forum, please know I'm just full of hot air! ;) I also have a dark sense of humour.

I've tutored people at uni in statistical analysis; I'm really good at it, which means I've got problems! ;) I want to lecture at Uni and work in hospitals. I love the university life and will probably stay studying for the rest of my life. Life is exciting - so much to learn and people to meet.

My interests include: psychology, working out at gymns, reading (I love 19th century literature), poetry (BIG Wilfred Owen fan), nature, astronomy (I own a 4.5" Newtonian telescope), Bonzai trees, the beach, philosophy (Nietzsche), and many many other things. I'm the worst dancer. Don't like nightclubs.

Wow, just saw this one too!! Where have these threads been???

I think most people know alot about me, but I'll go ahead and tell a bit about myself...

My name is Tracie, I just turned 40 in October. I've been married to a my childhood sweetheart, Russell for 20 years on Christmas Eve; and we have 5 beautiful kids, Brooke, 13; Heidi, 11; Ryan, 8; Tristan, 6; Chelsea, 3; and baby Stephen is on the way due to make his appearance around May 11, 2004. We live in Sisters, Oregon, on a mountain (which is actually a dormant volcano). My husband is a Systems Analyst for IBM and I'm a stay at home mom and an AIDS activist.

My favorite things to do are spending time with my family and friends, reading good books, writing, music, art, and helping people in need.

I love God, and his Son, Jesus Christ. I love nature and beauty. I love the laughter of children. I love walks on the mountain and the oceanside. I love Christmas. I love my family intensely. I love all my friends. I love reading a good poem on a snowy night by the fire. I love playing my piano and remembering how my brother use to play. I love listening to my favorite music in the early mornings down low before everyone else wakes up. I love feeling my baby move inside me. I love life. And I just love Kevin's Watch and those wonderful books by our favorite author.

What I "hate" in this world? I hate AIDS, I hate homelessness, I hate predjudice, I hate narrowmindedness, I hate "hate" in all forms. I hate greed, corruption, starvation, cruelty, guns, drugs, the lack of compassion for others, violence in all forms, including war; I hate that money comes before people. Oh goodness, too much hate there...I think I will stop now. :?

Anyway, that's a little bit about me that some may not have known. I'm glad I found this thread and read about other Watch members. Way Cool!! :D :D

I bumped them up from page four or five. I'm campaigning for Vain to sticky this one, the Birthday Thread, the Who did you find Kevin's Watch one and the Is your name here? one. They are a cool way for new people to find out more about our little (or not so little) family, and for us to find out more about new people and each other. :D

Support me by posting in the Sticky request thread in Announcements and Suggestions. :D

I'm Kev, 33, live in Melbourne but come from a country town. I like aussie rules football, maps, movies and the great outdoors, and if I am crowned Miss Kevinswatch I shall campaign to ensure that this thread is stickied.

Actually one of the first photos of myself ever put on the web had me floating in a river, wearing just shorts. I was doubled up with feet and head exposed, and my waist was so low in the water you couldn't see it.

So everybody who saw it wondered if I was starkers.

I am going to keep bumping this thread until Vain sticky's it or bans me. :D

I know I meant to post something here earlier, but nevermind.

My real name is: Egil Geir Brautaset (pronounce it if you can) but I usually use just the first name.

Due to the fact that the name is rare in Norway I do not have a nickname.

I will be 35 years next year.

And that should give you the most interesting facts about me. :)

My name is Don Oliver, and i live in L.A. and work as a film editor, and my one dream would be to see these books brought to the big screen like lotr. Well, thats all from me, I hope to have some interesting discussions here, talk to you guys and gals later.

[I'm posting this here since I don't know if everyone saw my <gauche> first post in the TC forum.]

Hello, my name is Darrell, and I hail from Indiana, where I was born and raised. I am currently 31 years old, having been married for the last 5 of those. My degrees are in biochemistry and food process engineering (both Bachelor's), but ever since graduation I have been employed in or near the pharmaceuticals industry. I currently audit computer systems validation for a contract pharma research organization located in Indianapolis. It's interesting (to me, at least) and it pays the bills, so I can't complain.

I have been reading (and tinkering with writing) sci-fi/fantasy since I was 11, and I'll bet you can guess my favorite author. I have a liking of audio drama, and have even (co)written and (co)produced some material: www.lastsummerpro.com if you're interested. One work, Ebon Storms, was written to sum up the experiences of a very successful AD&D campaign. It does pay some passing homage to Tolkien and Donaldson, but is it's own work, such that it is.

My wife and I are avid movie-goers, and were very pleased with the LOTR trilogy [she is not really into fantasy, but greatly enjoyed LOTR].

During college, I had a 6-month internship at a research firm in south France, where I almost learned how to speak good French. Since then, I have returned to Europe once for business, which allowed me to visit Holland and Belgium [my family is originally from Belgium, and I have a distant cousin there who has traced our lineage back to the 1400's!]. My wife and I are planning to visit the Holland/Belgium area some time this year. She has never been outside of the US, so she is very excited!

Well, personality-wise, I guess you would call me an introvert, though I'm not especially shy, but I don't make new friends easily. I do consider myself to be loyal, and my friends would argue that I'm not really introverted, since once you get me started you have a hard time shutting me up! It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for, right?

I'm about 6'1", 225# [and shrinking--weight wise :) --thanks to the treadmill at the gym] with blond hair & blue eyes---my wife says that I look a little like Faramir from the LOTR movies---I am flattered, but I also think she's batty!

But enough about me...what do you think of me?!

Welcome, Stone and Sea. Funny, my best friend, Dan Oliver, has yet to read the books, even though I've been pressing him on it for almost ten years.
