Mosquitoes need standing water to breed. Denver is semi-arid, so water doesn't stand for very long. Ergo, no mosquitoes. Just another benefit of living in the American Southwest....

It was weird because she was sitting to the left of me instead of to the right, and I don't remember actually going anywhere before getting out of the car.
Thank the gods you were driving! I suck at driving on the left side of the road....

More like thank the gods it was a dream, and I wasn't really driving. I've never driven on the left side of the road, but I'm pretty terrible at driving on the right side, so I imagine I couldn't be that much worse on the left. Or whichever side. I'm getting my lefts and rights confused now. :? Are we talking side of the road or of the car?

Well, if you were driving, and I was on your left, then you must have been sitting in the right-hand seat and driving on the left side of the road.

And yeah, Magickmaker, I saved you the trouble of commenting on my British driving skills. :|

A new entry to my dreamjournal this today. www.olympiandreams.blogspot.com

Some dreams contain deeper messages I am trying to send to myself, others are memories relived again and again. Nightmares of my deepest fears, and dreams that contain nothing but the emotion Love. Some of my dreams might even be glimpses of the future. But some dreams are just nonsensical.

This is one of them.

Pantless thursday - running
trail. Jim "Hey
thunderthighs!"
laughter
Slap my cheek
More laughter

One moment I am closing my eyes, letting the darkness envelope me. Thinking of Clare de Lune to end the day and then, for a moment split in half, I am unsure of where I am. It is neither the dream world nor the real world. It is nothing but darkness. For an instant my mind flashes to the Dark Tower and I am afraid that I have stepped into todash darkness.

My mind shivers, and kills that train of thought. Then, as fast as it came, the moment passes, and my dreamself takes over.

The first thing I remember is the smell. Earthy, and a deep brown black, I think of dirt and decomposing leaves from the nearby cottonwoods. The trail is covered in the thick layer of fallen leaves that come every fall. The sky is a slate grey, and the woods are still.

My breath puffs in the morning air as I ready myself for the upcoming jog. Hands on my hips, as my torso swings from side to side, I stretch my back out. Sam is standing next to me, his hand behind his back, gripping his foot and slowly bending it upwards. He grunts as his knee and calf stretch out.

I look over at him. "You ready?"
"I think so."
"Let's do it."

As I grip the waistband of my sweatpants, I am given a sparkling lightbulb of dreamknowledge. Today is the annual Pantsless Thursday Run. Everyone in the local area comes the first Thursday of the month to run pantsless on my beautiful trail. My sweats hit the ground, and I am ready to run.

Behind my I hear Jimmy's voice call out to me, "Hey, Thunderthighs!" Laughter caws out from the rest of his football team, come for the Thursday Run. I promptly lean forward a few degrees and give him a nice, taunting, slap on my ass. He yells out in mock fear as his teammates berate him. "That's what you get Jimmy!" they yell. I smile at the good fun we all have, and the run begins.

I wake up confused and laughing.

Usually not. I guess that explains it. Darn.

Haha. Might be!

I had a girl in my science class who didn't have a sense of smell, so that's what I was thinking. I mean, do people who are blind dream in shapes?

That's an excellent question, Balon! Even if they do dream in pictures, having learned no frame of reference, how could they describe what they "saw"?

I imagine it must consist of a lot of specific sounds. Much like a person who can't hear would "speak" in sign? Do we have any deaf Watchers?

Hmm. . . I smell and taste things when I dream. I once dreamed I was creating a new recipe, and I even remember what it tasted like when I woke up. 8O

Last night's odd dream:

I was walking my dog when I met Barack Obama's wife (Michelle?). She needed help with her baby for some reason, and stopped to ask me. However the baby wasn't with her, so she left a secret service agent with me, and drove off to get her baby. I then had a long conversation with the secret service agent (who wore his glasses the whole time) in my living room, waiting for her to show. She never did.

It's funny, I've had many more dreams that I remember in the two weeks since my puppy has come home than in the previous several years. Probably because of the interupted sleep.

Three nights ago, I dreamed about Wario.

Two nights ago, I dreamed about making a sandwich.

Last night, I dreamed that I bumped into an old girlfriend who wandered into some kind of pitch-black underground den of villainy and because I was the only person who knew she was there I had to go and get her out. Not a fun dream.

I had a dream about the bacon.
